The whole social media thing is that it seems to be cool to be left wing. Anyone suggesting any other views are immediately shut down. This is why brexit, trump etc came as such a shock to the cool kids..
The social media thing is dominated by the younger generation - hence why it's an echo chamber for them.....
I don't use Facebook much, but every so often will have a look. It's been ultra quiet politics wise compared to Brexit. So I just checked the more anti my point of view poster, he has defriended me. laugh
Ensuring that the echo chamber continues to agree with him.......

That's where FB and people fail - they are challenged in their viewpoint and they either hide the posts from someone they disagree with (to avoid unfriending) or they unfriend.

Thus ensuring that they are only ever going to receive news feed that aligns with their own viewpoint.

One of the reason I love Forums is that the viewpoint is a cross the spectrum...... (Caveat applies about PH being rabidly right wing - which it isn't as it can't be it's a discussion forum it doesn't have views itself - but it had a hard core of members who are slightly right of centre)

You are the one who keeps using the hyperbolic phrase 'rabidly right wing'. That makes you sound younger and more inexperienced with life than you probably are.

I can't quote properly due to my phone but from the Poll of polls thread you also said "Didn't seem much point asking a rabidly right wing forum that has a few token lefties what they would be voting for.........."

You mean this one???

I'm guessing this is a "who do you think will win" rather than a "who will you vote for" poll due to the addition of a coallition (sic) government option being on the list?

Start one if you think it would be even slightly representative of the whole country biggrin
Have a search - I'm not the only one that uses the phase

My son is a staunch and active Labour supporter, being one of the original people to join when Corbyn was on the first ballot paper (be gentle he was only 14 at the time).

He was assisting at the Corbyn visit to Crewe at the weekend and his take was that his speech at the rally was actually pretty impressive.
BUT his comment was that all the hard core Corbyn supporters are genuinely deluded, don't listen to anythign outside of their echo-chamber and "they actually think we aren't going to get annihilated"
It sounds like there is hope for your lad smile

The non voting class? Please define this a bit further as I believed that there were people from all backgrounds who didn't vote for a variety of reasons.
I am no fan of May, her record as Home Secretary is something that put me off her a long time ago, but, do you seriously believe this collection of clowns are competent/appropriate to hold office?

Who is the hot totty on the far right ? I'm thinking naughty thoughts about spreading political goodwill

No they cant vote in a GE, they can in local elections which are also happening at the moment.

Apparently, May asking Merkel to agree to this policy when they met just after she became PM, rather than asking the EU top brass, upset the EU, so they dug in. That's the level of childs play we are going to have to deal with for the next 2 years with the EU.

Don't try and work out what Labour is doing under Corbyn, it will fry any thinking persons brain.

It's difficult to fathom why Corbyn would make this pledge when it will only drive voters away. Proof again he actually wants to stay in opposition. I honestly think he is happy in his sandpit, great perks. The love of the great unwashed. Perfection

Your using the wrong polls.

This morning's poll is a much better representation of the democratic spectrum, well its what being spouted on facebook anyway.

http://www.itv.com/thismorning/hot-topics/poll-who...
And the associated comments on this fail to recognise that a vast majority of people watching This Morning would be people sat at home at 10.30am. Presumably those working nights would be catching up on sleep so I think it is fairly easy to see the demographic unless you're completely retarded

Oh wait, hang on.........

Shock news. People that will be paid more money to do nothing choose to vote for man promising to give them other people's money!

...and when everyone's money has run out they'll still vote for the same retard offering them money which does not exist!

Is there any policy Labour are clear on? Today Keir Starmer says 'freedom of movement must end' Today Diane Abbott says ' the Tories Immigration policy is terrible' calls for backing on freedom of movement.

The party is a laughing stock. hehe It's as though they think this crap they spout won't be promulgated.

They just don't care, I think they know this election is way lost and they are just saying anything to pass the time.

Labour are now saying they want to end freedom of movement, but when pushed on it what they are really saying is they will allow freedom of labour plus freedom to join family members. They basically don't want to change anything, but want to sound like they are.

They also say they want to stay in the SM, but you cant do that without accepting the 4 freedoms or being subject to the ECJ.

And two hours later Labour are saying that they don't want to end free movement... what an absolute yet completely predictable fiasco.

what they need is a strong leader with a clear picture of what they want and they have that its just that the parliamentary party and most of the Country don't agree with 90% of the st he comes out with.

And today's hilarium. Corbyn shakes the non distant money tree to give everyone a pay rise within the NHS.

Tomorrow will be free houses for all

How much has Jezebel spent this month. Must be elleventy billion.
