As of two weeks ago labours shopping spree was going to cost £52B. This week it's £68B not including the £20B for Scotlands new bank. When asked how it would be funded

Jokes aside labour intends to drop a tax bomb. And in it's own words, anyone earning over £70k will be considered 'rich'. Personal tax rises of 20%, inheritance tax grab, corporation taxes going up and the top tax rate will not be 50%, it will be moved gradually to 60%.

Given that a surprising number of public sector workers earn £70k, they will then demand compensatory pay rises, backed with strikes, leading to further tax increases...

How much has Jezebel spent this month. Must be elleventy billion.

As usual the far right agenda on here misses the point. Comnrade Corbyn will decry that ***all*** public sector workers are good people doing good work and will, therefore be exempt from being called "rich", "well off", "comfortably off" et al and be exempt from any future tax increases. Those nasty private sector workers (whay are they "private" anyhow, what are they trying to hide etc etc etc) will have tax increases to compensate.

Hes already promised tenants will be given the right to buy properties from private landlords for a 75 - 100k discount funded by the landlord.

If ever there were a time to vote Labour it's now

"I’d rather live with Jeremy Corbyn’s gentle dithering in pursuit of a better world than give May a mandate to destroy what remains of British decency."

I couldn't agree more.

The Tories are eviscerating our public services, and will continue to do so. Record numbers of homeless, food bank usage, the demonisation of sick and disabled people while handing huge sums of money to private assessment companies only for 60% of their decisions to be overturned on appeal, the NHS and emergency services in crisis.

Britain we can do better than this.

I've done well in life but some things aren't about 'me'. I'm voting Labour for the junior doctor, the midwife, the cleaner, white van man, anyone in temporary insecure employment or needing the care they're not currently getting.

Companies can and should pay their due. Anyone on >£70k can consider themselves 'comfortably off' compared with the average salary of £26k. I personally have no issue with paying more tax to fund our public services.

I don't think anyone does.

What they have an issue with is paying more tax to fund PFI, diversity officers, or whatever other way Labour would find to piss away the money without benefit.

Labour run NHS Wales and that, apparently, is in a shocking state.

I assume it was seen here for example http://labourlist.org/2015/06/jeremy-corbyn-right-...

But I think that article was before the last labour leadership battle maybe.
Still harks on the thinking of the party under his leadership now though.

This is the Tories who have increased real spending on public services every year since they took power despite inheriting a massive deficit?

If only you could!

Does this include 'better than the last time Labour were in power when they almost bankrupted the country'?

Presumably basic economics wasn't one of those 'things'?

So dispite taxing people who earn over 70k more tax even though the tax received by the government would be less and increasing corporation tax will also mean less tax collected, you still think it's a good idea? Taking into account people with more disposable income are helping the local businesses by spending money.

You also think companies will stomach the £10 minimum wage which will increase their costs through pension increase, national insurance contributions etc ontop of staff wages that also need to go up for example;

Worker on 7.40
Team leader 8.40
Shift supervisor 9.40

Which would have to be adjusted for the new minimum wage;

£10, £11 and £12 plus additional costs to the employer. Do you not think this will either affect the employment rate or cost to the customer? Don't forget the loss of earnings from the extra bank holidays.

Im not bothered about creatative accounting as that company still employs xyz amount of employees who pay tax and spend their money in the economy here.
