Andrew Gwynne MP was on R4 just now eulogising about both Corbyn & Abbott.

Glorious delivery of "what people understand" - the stock Labour phrase employed when substance is non-existent.

I've got news for you Androoo, the thinking people "understand" only too well.

People who want that scenario. Anarchy, the have nots that don't give a toss. They are so full of hate for 'the rich' that they would happily see the country torn apart to spite 'us'. And that is why the polls are BS. They'll get 30% of the vote.
I was speaking to a guy who said "he was a socialist" He said they want to take away our pensions (Conservatives) and shut down the NHS this from a guy who is on a full range of benefits including a Car but he can still waddle around and drive hundreds of miles in a day going to his boat on the South Coat. I replied " your not a Socialist your a fkin scrounger who just takes and gives nothing back".
Now despite his words I know for a fact he will not get of his fat lazy arse and vote and there will be many more like him.

Poor Labour-just when they saw the glimpse of power- the goon squad fk up the party

Anti-British Diane Abbott is unfit to hold high office is the headline. Tearing labour a new one.

Abbott and Corbyn, the Tory gift that keeps giving hehe
yes

Here's hoping McDonnell takes over eventually. Doing so after Labour's 2022 defeat would be OK.

the problem for Labour is there will be a much higher turnout of Conservative voters amongst the 45% or so in the Polls whilst many of the 35% of Labour polling Voters cant be arsed.
Still on for a big Conservative Majority despite the media doing everything they can to keep the tension going.

Can you imagine the scene at Buck House if he knocked at the door to tell HMQ that he was going to form the next government ! She'd be on the hot line to Daniel Craig toot sweet.

Ironically raising corporation tax is going to hammer pensions because guess where dividends tend to come from.....

you have to ask what sort of people believe this Country will be better off with a man like Corbyn leading us. Add to him McDonnell and Abbott and you have a domesday scenario.
I get that they would never vote for the Conservatives but they don't seem to keen to move to the Liberals and my guess is they simply will not turn out on the 8th May.

Sounds like the EU ref.

Then the remain team attacked the blatant lies of the brexiteers. How did that pan out?

Corbyn would be an utter train wreck, just like I feel will hit us as the reality of Brexit negotiations emerge.

I never thought the public would swallow those lies in >30% numbers, like the scot didn't in their ref. But they did. It seems we are in a new "really really bullst promises" political era.

Indeed - and this would come after Labour already raided pensions back in 1997.

If Brexit 'negotiations' are indeed doomed from the outset, JC as PM might be an interesting scenario...he'd be tarred with orchestrating the disaster.

Conversely, if TM has to try to muddle through a Brexit that is doomed from the outset, she and the Tories will suffer the electoral consequences themselves.

So, whilst I am hoping for a TM win, if JC does pull it off then at least I'm hopeful that a failed Brexit will inevitably finish him and Labour off for years...

The only thing JC will pull off is...well, think autoerotica, and that's assuming DA is unavailable due to attending basic numeracy classes.

Of course Brexit negotiations are doomed from the outset. However successful they are, there will always be aspects about which some commentators will be unhappy, and lots of noise will be made. Goes with the territory.

I wonder how the right wingers who joined the Labour party just to vote for Corbyn to 'destroy the party' are feeling at the moment?

Very much a case of 'be careful what you wish for'!

I cannot see Labour coming anywhere near power at all but if they do much better than expected the aforementioned numpties will be partly culpable.

IIRC he didn't need any of the additional votes. Corbyn is the choice of the labour party members.

And how many people joined the Labour party just to vote for Corbyn?

I seem to recall several people on here boasting about doing so.

He should have never got anywhere near the leadership of the party. Another 'Milibandalike' would have done a far better job of keeping Labour in the margins.

The stats are on the Labour party website - he would have won without the new members. The new member made it more emphatic, but didn't change the result.

Leaders debate tonight I believe? Presume terrorism is going to be high on the agenda.

I've just been out and James O'Brien was on LBC and even he wasn't trying to defend Corbyn over his terrorist sympathies.

Throw enough mud and some of it sticks.
