Please define 'normal' beyond 'not bloody socialists'. It would really help me to understand your point. Thanks.

This.

The way to win elections (from the position of opposition) is to get people who wouldn't vote for you, to vote for you. It's why Blair won! "Mondeo man" etc

But even in Glastonbury there will be people who didn't vote who may vote next time who will be influenced by it.

Still, somehow Comrade Corbyn is seen as "cool", Why is beyond most normal thinking people. But remember at one time, being a grown up liking Rolf Harris was seen as cool. Or liking the Lostprophets, or...
Do you think Jeremy Cobyn is a paedophile?
Almost. If he gets to implement his economic policy he'll fcensoredk the kids for a generation...
Trouble is "the kid's" are being led like lambs to the slaughter, they don't see any further than the mobile glued to their hand ! "gullible" does'nt even cover it, that's what Corbyn is leaching to.

It does appear to be the way, appear on every news item greeting cheering crowds and making yourself look really popular.

TM on the other hand, seen door knocking in Scotland where nobody answered the door, and not showing up for a leaders debate.

So his policies, which include involved increased public sector costs and increased state pensions, to be paid for by the 'young', will benefit 'young people' how exactly?

Britain would certainly be defined as a 'socialist state' by US standards, and by most Canadians.

I doubt any (well most at least) of us would not want to see the complete privatisation of a health system made available only to those that can afford it, to use a moderate example, or the removal of state funding for education, as a more extreme example.

Limited socialism is not a bad thing, and I suspect most of us would agree that's it's worth a bit extra out of our wages/profits every month to cover those less fortunate, if for no other reason than we may become one of them some day.

Indeed what Corbyn is offering is perfumed arse water to people who can't see why excessive taxation on the bourgeoisie and large corporations will end in disaster, and some considerable time before it becomes 'their children's problem'.

But many here (and I detect a Corbynite or two in the crowd saying similar), are not wrong when they suggest that the Tories have to sell something more positive than 'more of the same plus a little bit worse' like some kind of insolvency practitioner managing a voluntary arrangement to a deadline.

The Tories also need to return to solid conservative ideas and values. As I've said before - that does not include Snooper's Charters and handy adjustments to human rights. To any thinking/educated person, these things smack of authoritarianism and totalitarianism.

If you like fooling the young into believing everything is free - then yes.

It would be doing McDonnell's work for him.
Alluding to earlier posts - I think we may have identified 'Squealer'.

If you're taking out Corbyn, wouldn't an icepick to the skull in some South American country be more, you know, along the same historic line of succession.

Also, she was a presidential candidate, they traditionally stand aside after defeat as they aren't nominated the post for an indefinite term like the leader of a UK political party, Corbyn is the leader of the largest opposition party, surely that isn't hard to grasp?

Most kids have socialist ideals, because to date most have lived a socialist existence (i.e. spending other people's money). Who wouldn't want that!

It's only once they get into the big wide world that many realise their life isn't going to be funded by the grace of other people's money - and that's when many start to change their attitude (and voting intention).
This always comes up. What do you mean by "other people's money?".

Companies making vast profits like this is exactly what they're objecting to. Their beef is with the poor legislation that allows companies to make vast profits, not with the companies themselves.

But why bother, They'll be turning against him in their droves in a few weeks, won't they?

The Tories ought to watch and try to learn something.
It's just fluff designed to boost his ego.

Why would they emulate that?
Because they might find out that if they lighten-up and engage with people rather than look like a bunch of stuffed shirts that know better they might avoid the sort of monstrous cock-up like they had a couple of weeks ago. And before any one says "But they won", they didn't. They screwed up massively.
