Most of us are patiently waiting for the train wreck that is Brexit to come to its natural conclusion of a complete failure that needs to be abandoned.
Who is us? Are there more than twelve of you?

What he said, and that's exactly why many people voted to get out - "leave the sinking ship" and all that. Only to get labelled as racists or little Englanders.

But let me hear what you would do to get us out of this muddle?
A fine post but sadly lost on here.

Although I'd love to see the answer to your final question. In fact if we're ever going to have a second vote or whatever, perhaps that should be answered before we all trip down to the polling stations ?

The UK doesn't use the Euro anyway, Bank of England is in control so I'm not quite getting the point here. If Euro collapsed, would staying in EU effect the £ more than if we are out?

Yes - for two reasons.

First, our contributions are based upon relative economic performance. The irony of the EU members and institutions criticising Osborne's "austerity" measures is that their success lead to the famous "demand" for several billion Dave swore he wouldn't pay (although of course he had his belly tickled, rolled over then lied about it).

Secondly, the membership rules restrict our ability to respond and react to macro economic crises - the levers of business rates, state intervention, consumption taxes, etc. are all very powerful, but currently hamstrung.

Unfortunately a Euro collapse will hurt everyone, inside or outside the EU. Though those in the Eurozone get it worst, followed by those in the EU, then EFTA etc then everyone else.

The biggest protection from it will be for our trading trends to continue as they have been for years... But even that would be small comfort.

Everyone needs the Euro to get sorted, but internally all they are doing is can kicking as they know that the proles in the member states won't go for it.

May opens the door to extending the Brexit transition period - that’s going to go down well in her party and among grass root Tory members. smile Seems she’s just continually kicking the can down the road.

She's pissed about for two years, and this is the result. And the stupid cow has just signed her own 1922 committee letter - there's now time for a leadership contest before it's all concluded.
Bye bye Theresa.

Just had Boles on R4

The cost of an extra year's transition is 18bn Euros. 10 bn net contributions for the year and a further 8bn in assuming further liabilities.

It's what you voted for, remember you won so she has a mandate to do wtf she wants.....can't be complaining about how she is doing it now.

Own it.

Stfu, we are talking about the PM. It’s not even a brexit issue. It’s yet another example that she is unfit to lead. We are skint as a country. Austerity over isit. Ok, throw 10b at the Eu. Age must go.

Labour manage to do nothing and win votes from Mays fkwittery

Technically staying in the EU seems to be what you voted for, not me wink

A time limited transition arrangement was fine with me. Extending it because the now PM and her main advisor are incompetent idiots is not.

She's incapable of thinking past the end of her nose.

- what will they resolve in the additional 12mths that they couldn't have already? The Irish border non-issue has been front and centre from the outset (because she's an idiot). What genius plan is there to resolve the politicking that another 12mths will cure?

- one of the main points of her idiotic calling of a GE was to get some breathing space between actually leaving and the next GE. That will have worked perfectly if this happens Theresa, you muppet.

The EU will suck through heir teeth for a few minutes and then accept this proposal willingly. Keeping the UK's funds rolling in whilst we have zero input into anything and are still bound by their strictures is the perfect scenario for them.

She is a fool. Piss or get off the pot Mrs May.

Idiots are annoyed that having given her ultimate power to do whatever she wanted on Brexit, she is not doing the 'correct' Brexit which was never defined in the first place and no one can agree on laugh

I don't think they have, whoever they is, as we are not in a dictatorship.

Perhaps her Cabinet should stand up against her or resign?

Kuensburg just asked her as she was walking into the Brussels death star, if she intended to extend negotiations for another year. May went babling on about what great progress had been made (everyone goes wtf in their heads), and gave us a full description of what the Irish backstop was.
