Farage beats everyone else to be first to glad-hand Trump.
I wonder: will he be talking up the British Government or talking it down?Farage beats everyone else to be first to glad-hand Trump.
Hmm. So tricky....

Has Farage handed in his MEP card yet? Or is he still taking the money?
The EU is still taking the money off the UK, but not letting Theresa May attend members meetings despite the UK still (for the time being) being a member state. So my advice to Farage would be keep on taking the money like the EU does, until something changes. LHRFlightman said:

It surprises me that this is not talked about more. Farage is well paid by the EU:http://www.newstatesman.com/poliics/staggers/2016/...
I thought at first that he probably refused the MEP salary or donated it to charity on principle. However, his principles do not seem to extent very far.
I would never take money from my employer whilst simultaneously trying to destroy it.
More importantly, why are UKIP sources crowing that Farage meeting Trump makes the Prime Minister look foolish? Is that what they want?

MEP's are there to represent their constituents, not to pander to the EU system.Trying to suggest he shouldn't work against the interests of the EU because that's where his wage packet is processed is more than a little absurd. He is not being employed by the EU to do their bidding, as is the case for a normal employee in a business, he is there to work for the UK electorate who gave him the job.

Set against the self serving slimies, like Bliar, Mandelson, Camoron, The Kinnocks etc, Farage comes across as a shining beacon of honesty.
He's always struck me as a self promoter after a meal ticket, and getting a cushy MEP job by pointing to the flaws in the EU was certainly a good one. But yeah, the Kinnocks make it look like kids getting the keys to the sweet shop.A bit like many in the SNP or Lib Dems- scream blue murder about a problem knowing that you'll never be on the line to find a solution. The responsibility of government killed the Lib Dem vote, Farage can't be held responsible for any policy, so he will remain an immaculate figure to his supporters.
How can anyone say that Farage isn't exactly the right person to be representing us on the world stage....

If you were working your notice for an employer, would you still take the money?

Interesting, I did not know that, and yes, such a distinction could not be given lightly by any US President. Still , it will be interestin g to see what, if anything Mr Farage ends up with from the Trump camp.
Other than that , where is Farge going to turn up next? France, Germany, The Netherlands even? Obviously, perhaps not quite the same, owing to language/cultural matters , but advisory? Would not surprise me.
Having told every external country who had a thought on Brexit to stay out of the argument....Other than that , where is Farge going to turn up next? France, Germany, The Netherlands even? He sure seems to have a flair for going to other countries and having his say.
Hasn't he got more marches attempting to intimidate judges to organise first though?

Nor I but it's a very interesting concept..........Farage US ambassador to the EU
Why can't he be our ambassador in Washington. I don't like him, but Trump loves him. Could be good for the UK. jsf said:

The closest thing we have to this are the Sinn Fein MP's who do not take their seats at Westminster.
The purpose of MEP's is to ensure that constituents are represented when new laws are considered. Farage has never engaged with that. I respect his right to stand and be elected, but if he is going to subvert the role, he should not take the salary.
