My objection to all this is the children present- they have no idea what the subject matter is about but are just holding the banner their parents have given them.

The kids should be kept out of the debate.
These types involve anything and everything they can. Regardless. They don't care.
Like the ones who hung their placards over the fences that were part of the homage to the fallen at the Westminster attack.
I have a word for them, but you don't need to guess what it is.

A lot has been said that it was mostly 'oldies' who voted Brexit - well, looking at the vids on YouTube of the 'March' there were a lot of real 'old farts' amongst them.

I especially liked the one who was asked what he was protesting for?
'We shouldn't be leaving Europe'.
He must have missed his geography classes at school then. And they say only the 'educated' voted Remain. laugh

He's right though - even though we're not leaving Europe, we definitely shouldn't. A stopped cock and all that.

Stopped cock and all that? Sounds painful.

How can you protest milk? The drinking of milk is an admirable genetic mutation that allowed us historically to master our colder harsher climates.

This guy is possibly lactose intolerant, and he wants to fight back, or he has failed to realize that without the use to which humans put animals such as cows/cattle, it is possible that cows and cattle could have gone the way of the Dodo centuries ago.

I suspect he's protesting at the industrial-scale farming production of milk for human consumption. I'm not against it, but can understand why some people would be given some of the processes and conditions.

I understand what you're saying and knew it was probably the point the chap was getting at. I just like being obtuse with incredibly obtuse things.

just noticed the 70 years peace sign. I think you might want to ask the people of the former Yugoslavia, Northern Ireland or Spain about that one

I dont get how having a faceless political union of un-accountable bureaucrats will somehow keep peace across Europe. It also makes me sick that they're so desperate to generalise all of europe as a tinderbox of conflict and not the centre of the free and liberal world.

Actually, I'd agree with you on all these points. Very convenient for the gravy-trainers to sell themselves as being indispensable for peace and democracy.

Of course that 70 years of peace has got nothing to do with NATO, and all to do with the wonderful EU. (most of whom, Even wealthy Germany forgot to pay their part of the bill for NATO`s upkeep) As usual, utterly deluded t**ts

Whilst NATO without a doubt kept us safe from the external threats (ie the Cold War and the Russians)

It is worth giving consideration to what also keeps us safe?

I would also suggest that being surrounded by like minded democracies is our biggest security advantage.

If you go back 40 years or so Spain, Portugal & Greece were all military dictatorships - and eastern Europe were all oppressive one party communist states.

Spain, Portugal, Greece and the majority of the ex communist eastern European states are both fully functioning democracies and members of the EU.

The EU has acted as an economic magnet to keep all member states on the democratic path - in 60 years no member state has yet regressed from being a democratic state - that surely has to be a good thing.

Being surrounded by - and continuing to be surrounded by - like minded democracies is our biggest security advantage.
