hehe It's entirely predictable that they're falling over themselves to excuse him but I'm quite surprised the more rabid feminists are letting the hand round the throat and waist slide.... metoo and all that!

He stood up in Parliament during a gay marriage debate to compare gay people to dogs FFS.
On the other hand he has said he will increase competition in airlines, so not all bad.

The discussion isn't about what you want to wear or dress up as, can't you see that? It's about the unending hypocrisy of Justin "the woke" Trudeau.

A man truly hoist by his own petard, but it's not his fault as he stated, sorry but I'm privileged and it makes you an awful person I'll try to be better going forward, he couldn't even apologise without trying to blame something else.

Thanks Wills2, but where have I said I wish to 'wear or dress up' ?

I think you need to read what is written before bashing away on the keyboard - it makes discussion far easier

So many are blinded by their bigotry

Thanks fblm - I think you missed the point of my post - it was hypothetical ...... but I suspect you knew that.

I am pleased you are able to speak for whole of PH, but it does seem that, in fairness, no one as yet wishes to discuss sensibly - speaks volumes.

In the absence of any sensible debate - I'm out

Not what's being said. Not voting for the Liberals guarantees Andrew Scheer becomes PM. It fking sucks that's the case but it is. Scheer will implement policies that have a negative impact on minorities, Trudeau, for all his faults, has done things to help. Most people here are really despondent about the choices available and will have to vote liberal through gritted teeth. It's not a case of being hypocritical, it's just the other choice is much worse. He stood up in Parliament during a gay marriage debate to compare gay people to dogs FFS.
Sounds like Canada joins the US, UK & France in only having people to vote against.

No I don't speak for PH but I agree that it does seem no one gives a sh!t about whatever it is you can't understand or how you do or don't want to dress up. This thread is about Trudeau. If you want to dress up or black up or whatever, knock yourself out but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on running for political office; the likes of Trudeau will crucify you for it.

..and that my friends is half of the point.

The other half is we have been bashed for the past few years over what people say, and to an extension what they think as being objectionable. We have long gone past when someone had to actually do something materially bad, violent language etc. etc. Now it is clear that the poster boy for the liberal left had an addiction for dressing up in a manner most intelligent people have known is highly offensive for at least the past 30 years. The very same people that have spent the past few years calling anyone who isn't part of their tribe evil Nazis for just about anything have been falling over themselves to pardon Trudeau. I wonder if they will extend even 1% of that same "understanding" to those not from their political tribe? No I thought not. Utter hypocrisy, and this is the crux of why this story has fired so many people up.

That and its good fun to rip into those in power.

But its not his fault, his "White Privilege" blinded him to the racism at the time and combatting his privilege is something he has to fight to recognise everyday! laugh

I mean wow what a guy, he just blamed every white Canadian for his own "racism" and told every white Canadian - YOU must do better - in an apology for HIS racism, and the Canadian Left are loving him even more eek

Not many people are doing this at all, though. The major sentiment here is "eurgh, that sucks, he's a dumb privileged white-boy and it was racist but we're about to have an election, the NDP can't win and the Conservatives are actual proper racist trash so we'd best vote for him through gritted teeth."

I cant claim to have followed this closely but that looks about right to me.

Surely the correct solution in this instance is for JT to resign, and allow a non racist liberal candidate to stand?

That's what I'd like to happen, yes but I think it'd likely destroy the Liberals chances of winning the election - they've just called a GE, having a leadership election now isn't going to work.

The Canadians go to the polls in just over a weeks time.

Looks like Trudeau is favourite to remain as PM although he will probably need the support of the other left leaning parties this time.

Surreal isn't it, perhaps not the fact that he said it (because politician) but the fact that they are swallowing it.

St Barack of Obama gave his support to Trudeau the other day, but then he does have a habit of poking his nose into the elections of other countries.
