Did you see Obama yesterday? Disgraceful. Taking the piss out of President Trump by using complete sentences and speaking coherently. Who does he think he is.
Or maybe he's deflecting bad publicity of his own.

I see that Ivanka was booed this morning in Berlin at a women's empowerment event when she said she was "proud" of her fathers "advocacy of women". Vacuous bint.

On the stage was theGerman Chancellor, the MD of the IMF and a part time jewelry designer with no qualifications whose presence was dictated solely by nepotism.

Drain the swamp!

This lady?

She's a role model of propriety.

I'm all for having a go at the Big D at every opportunity.

But for the moment, I'm not going to have a go at his daughter. From what I've seen and heard, she's conducted herself fairly well - and may even be a stabilsing influence on her fairly unpredictable father.

On stage the German chancellor (who invited Ivanka), Christine Lagard the unpenalized criminal, and the Queen of the Netherlands (a similarly unelected person who was given a place at the table by virtue of her birth into the Royal Family). Drain the swamp indeed.

Don't call him Big D. He' like that. hehe

Ivanka and her husband are probably the most influential people in the world right now given that they are Trump's closest and most trusted advisors. They have zero qualifications and both owe everything to nepotism. Apparently she told him to bomb Syria. A US nuclear sub arrived in Korea today. Be afraid.

She does seen to be a calming influence but I would like to know here long term plans to bring manufacturing of fashion stuff to the US and the recent granting of trademarks in China, well. Opportunistic or does everyone else have an easy time?

As it happens I watched John Oliver's latest episode last night, and he did a piece on this very subject.

Many people who advise Presidents are "unqualified" (what qualifications do you need for a job like that anyway? I'm not saying the situation is ideal - far from it.
Don't forget, Ronald Reagan leaned on Nancy (literally as well as figuratively) quite a lot.

Trump bashing is all well and good and I'm up for bashing him at every opportunity he presents. However, I'm not going to lash out at everybody in the "Trump Team" just because I think he's an odd ball.

He has some good people. Mattis, Rogers, McMaster, even Nikki Haley has been surprisingly impressive. All are qualified and experienced. The Kushners are unqualified for any of the responsibilities they have been given.

What qualifications should they have?

What qualifications had Nancy Reagan?

It's rumoured Jimmy Carter used to talk to his old mum for advice.

All Presidencies will have a mixture of hot shot university educated and politically educated folk offering advice and also some less "classically" trained people as well. I'd put Ivanka in the latter category.

The theory is anyone born in the US and over 30 something can run for the top job. No mention on qualifications.

I expect a lot of the job is picking the right advisors, the ones with the experience.

Son in law is still under a cloud with respect the Russian inquiry.

Not on the same scale, but I know top rugby coaches who often ask the opinion of a 'non-expert'. The reason is that they'll often spot something an expert won't as the basics/simple things can often be missed by those over analysing a subject.

It's a little different. Kushner has been put in charge of finding peace in the Middle East, reorganizing the Federal government and advising the President on relationships with amongst others, the Chinese. Not only is he uniquely unqualified for any of these tasks he's also made subordinate those who are and who have been subject to congressional oversight and confirmation. Kushner was neither elected nor subject to congressional confirmation. His only qualification for an unprecedented portfolio of responsibility is the fact that he's married to the presidents daughter.

It's a joke and makes a mockery of the statute on nepotism that exist to prevent such a situation.

Tony Blair, the man who took the UK to war in the middle east on false information (I am being generous) was made middle east peace envoy for the UN.

I suggest that appointment was more bat st crazy than anything we have seen from Trump in terms of appointments so far.

With regards to the earlier tweet on Canada, he just started a trade war, putting a 24% tariff on Canadian lumbar as retaliation to the Canadian tariffs on USA milk.

What utter rubbish. Blair, whether you like him or not, was a world statesman with vast experience and global contacts at the highest level and a thorough knowledge of the Middle East. He's also respected here and in the ME. (I can't stand him but that's beside the point).

A bad day for the orange bigot. He will not have enjoyed seeing his daughter booed nor the press it is getting. He's also backed down completely on his threat to shut down the government if money for his ludicrous wall is not earmarked in the spending bill. Now even Jason Chaffetz is saying that Flynn committed disclosure violations, a felony. Flynn is going to jail unless he has enough dirt on Trump to cut a deal with the Feds. To compound that the WH had refused a congressional request to release files related to Flynn! Oh dear!

The middle east situation improved dramatically with Blair as the peace envoy, didn't it.

Mark 8th May in your diaries. Expect a huge distraction, possibly a military incident to take place to avert attention from what's happening on the Hill. wink
