I am going to be working on a ship that sails weekly from Galveston, Texas, for the next 4 months.

I am expecting a lot of Trump voters amongst my audiences( I'm a musician). I am already wondering whether to ever engage in any discussion about the subject. I am leaning towards trying to avoid it, as I am concerned that nobody who supports this man seems willing or able to carry out rational discussion.
Try some different lyrics to Galveston?

Galveston, oh, Galveston,
I still hear your president lying;
I'm not sure he's even trying;
I hope he's gone, when we get back to Galveston

Sing a few verses of "The Yellow Rose of Texas" or "El Paso" and you'll have them in the palm of your hand smile
o/t when I were a wee lad, before every home had a TV we had a piano and my parents' party-piece was my dad playing and my mum singing The Yellow Rose of Texas. Only I'd seen that taxis in New York were yellow, and until I was at a reading age I was under the impression they were singing "The Yellow Rows of Taxis".

Thanks for your great suggestions everyone. I laughed out loud at the alternative lyrics for 'Galveston'......Perhaps I will sing that version on my last cruise! smile

Some years ago on another American ship, I once mentioned that my home town was the birthplace of Charles Darwin. 'HE WAS A LIAR!!!' came an anguished cry from the back of the venue.

Well, I just moved right into my next song, but it is a moment I will always remember. As most of us are aware, the USA is rather a religious country, at least in 'the middle', as it were, but it really, really shocked me.

So his (party appointed) communications director Michael Dubk quits citing 'personal reasons'

I assume that means he cant manage Trump and doesnt want to be connected with the administration or its problems.

Also Trumps struggling on getting people appointed to position. 39 out of 559 positions requiring senate approval.

So sad.

Fox news are busy running interference for the Donald
Kushner did nothing wrong says one of their sources...

It was Trump that was claiming Fake News if it was a single unnamed source wasn't it?
