Tasmin 'B' Post External Trim Wanted
Discussion
I hope you have more luck than I did; when I looked for a nearside one in 1996 there were none to be had. My car actually wore a replica that someone had made from aluminium sheet! It was still on when I sold the car in 2001.
Yours is the later style, the early cars didn't have the extra bulge.

Plain B post trim up on flea. Nothing to do with me though.

Thanks again to Roy for the panels.
I was wondering how to fix them to the car invisibly. It looks like TVR bonded a couple of small wooden blocks to the back of the panel, one top and one bottom, and hoped a screw from inside would find a bit of wood to bite on. Developing that idea I've shaped some timber to match the inner curve of the panel and bonded these in place.
These mean there is little chance of not getting a 'hit' with a screw from the inside and there is no chance the panel will be distorted no matter how hard the screw is tightened.
This was an experiment with some stainless mesh to add a finishing touch and hide the body moulding you can normally see through the gap.
I've decided it too bling though so I'm using plain black mesh instead. I'll post up a final pic when it's all done.

Don't be, I'm delighted with them. Actually I think they were complete as I've not seen a mesh trim on any "standard" version. As for the little blocks; I'm guessing on that point based on the little brackets moulded on to the back of your originals.
I've seen some 'B' post panels screwed on from the outside so I wanted to avoid that. I get the impression this was one of those TVR lash-up's along the lines of "the designer says these bits go on here but he doesn't say how they are fixed on. Anyone got any ideas...?"

Hi
The panels originally had a bolt/stud attached to the inside of the panel and that went through the side of the car and a nut and washer held it in place on the inside of the car. That was then covered by a panel of sorts on the inside.

Coming along nicely...
The mesh worked well...
I haven't had time to screw them on yet so the gaps aren't right and I may change from satin to gloss black.
These look so much nicer than the hideous plates which were on the car when I bought it. Thanks again Roy
