All over the news yesterday about consumer spending having nosedived since the start of year due to rampant inflation (more expensive imports).

Project fear?

You can't blame Labour for this one.

Nosedived?

Or just lower than previously?

Nothing can ever be merely lower or higher these days, that's just not sensationalist enough.

Think along the lines of soaring, rampant, crashing, nose dive, free fall ( usually a 0.5% decrease), new highs etc etc

This is the graph backing up the story in the FT.

Prices falling for ages, them slow turn around to increases matching the forex slump with the referendum.

Too early to say if the dip will become a trend.

May be one reason May wants to rush the election now.

With Sterling strengthening, maybe the price rises will be more subdued.

Everything is spun in such a way, it drives down consumer confidence when the retards keep bleating terms like "nosedive", "crash" etc

If retards offends you, switch the word to remainers, it means exactly the same thing.

Did all Labour voters vote to Remain?

Can we blame the last recession on Labour? I remember Gordon ending boom and bust, but its been a bit of a blur since then.

I am an expert in these things and I predict in the future there will be a recession and then further into the future the Economy will also grow .

So 'store prices' are still lower than they were between 2011 and 2014?

Why roll your eyes for me working in Belgium?

This place is fked, the client I am working for is propped up by daily ECB handouts, as are most other financial services over here, the client just shoved 15m to bring in contractors after being told by ECB to ditch perm staff. The work is boring, it is against my work ethic to just milk a client but for once I'm pulling on these teets until the cows run dry.

Stop being a "remainer" for a second. I love Europe, I despise the EU. The EU is nothing more than a cabal for corrupt politicians, protectionism and hidden finances. One can love Europe but not believe in the EU, just like you can have a gay friend even if you personally don't want to play hide the sausage.

As for milking, it isn't really my thing but lets face it, the EU has done exactly that to the UK for decades.

A Brexit-related recession has been on the cards since day one of the Brexit result. This is not breaking news.

The only serious future scenario would be a combination of Brexit and a Left-wing government taxing the "rich" people. Those "rich" people will then have less disposable income to spend on goods and services, thus causing further harm to the economy.

Things are defo slowing down. Whether that is part of the normal economic cycle or Brexit worries is up for debate. But, either way, prices are rising sharply (due to the weak Pound) and people are starting to think twice about spending. Was in Lidl yesterday and noticed a number of regular items, like cheese, have jumped around +10% in the past month. Made me think more consciously about costs during the shop and probably spent slightly less as a result.

Whatever negative happens, it will be the fault of Brexit.

What on earth did you do to deserve being sentenced to work in Belgium? I used to work for a Belgium company, boring bloody place! But I sure hope those teets keep on giving.
