The killers of Lee Rigby were both shot iirc and the recent attacker at the Houses of Parliament, perhaps you think they shouldn't have though.
After they'd already killed people. If the intelligence gathering was so good then perhaps they would have got to these morons before they killed people and stood waiting to have it our with the police.I was referring to the shootings of these intelligence led operations pre attack. I genuinely don't recall one where the police shot a terrorist.

Shows how good the police action was in such cases. The police do not want to shoot people. An arrest of terrorists without having to fire any rounds shows professionalism of a high order. It's unlike you to highlight top quality police performance. Keep it up.Derek Smith said:

How can one be certain they are a terrorist if they are shot before they commit an attack?I was referring to the shootings of these intelligence led operations pre attack. I genuinely don't recall one where the police shot a terrorist.
I think the fact that this country has substantially less such attacks than France and Germany, suggests that the police and other relevant bodies are doing a decent job on this.

Sounds a bit like the logic used determine if someone was a witch.I was referring to the shootings of these intelligence led operations pre attack. I genuinely don't recall one where the police shot a terrorist.
If they wait until someone's killed someone they've failed.
If they shoot them before they've killed someone it's De Menezes MkII because all the details aren't released within an hour.
Also depends how you define "terrorist" I guess. I'm fairly sure Khalid Masood wasn't planning on surrendering after he stabbed that poor police officer.

Police firearms thread = narrow minded moronic comments from same old hand wringing members.
Cant wait for the next one.
To be frank, I am not a fan of the firearms threads, I prefer general "police brutality" threads, so I can bore people's t*ts off by doing the "fell down a fire escape during the arrest" thing.Cant wait for the next one.
Odd thing is, it seems to be the coppers that frequent these threads that get most wound up about it.....

Maybe if people keep telling you you're crooked and st at your job because of the time PC World broke their computer and charged them 100 quid for it you'd be a bit bored and maybe even a little bit defensive of it after a while too?Odd thing is, it seems to be the coppers that frequent these threads that get most wound up about it.....

You just keep banging your childish boring drum if it makes you feel better, its making you come across as a complete fist though.

I wouldn't know, I've never worked for PC World.I do, however, work for a company where sometimes, indeed often, things don't quite go to plan, to put it mildly. If you work for such an organisation, then I'm afraid sarcastic remarks in public somewhat go with the job.
I'm sure the coppers on here are all thoroughly decent, I'm sure most coppers are, that's what I keep getting told (by coppers!). However, my own experience has been substantively different and the blame for my attitude to it lies fairly and squarely at the door of the coppers involved.
I am a law abiding person who dislikes and distrusts the police. I'm far from alone on here, and many are far more negative than I am. The police who post here seem to deride that sort attitude and appear entirely unconcerned that law abiding people might have good reason not to trust the police. I'd be appalled if it were me.

QED.Or the sensible thing to do would be to just stop as you're making yourself look stupid.

For how much of your life are you going to carry that weighty chip on your shoulder? If youre not careful it'll gradually eat away at you
Theres something called moving on ( see the Mccann thread)
or seek help
PH is good at that - how would you feel if you let us know what happened?

It's a very tasty chip and I carry it well, with lashings of vinegar. Used to have salt too, but the health bods put a stop to that.If youre not careful it'll gradually eat away at you

I'm sure I've mentioned the high level overview previously....there's a small bit of it in the thread about the A140 head on thing....but it isn't really worth going into specifics, it's very boring for everyone else and it won't help me. My trust in the police is broken permanently. I will have no interaction with them unless forced to by law. To the extend that, a few years ago, I was burgled and didn't bother telling them. They'd no doubt have wanted to inspect my vehicles to ensure compliance with the road traffic act, or something (I've actually had this before).
They don't like me. I don't like them. That's clearly how it's going to stay. I'm fine with that, as long as nobody expects me to pretend everything that's gone on, didn't, and I should just forget it and put it behind me. Because I'm not going to, and the reason for that is that I know it could, and probably will, happen again.

A woman in her twenties was shot by the Police in London's glamourous Willesden, during an anti-terror operation. In a serious condition in hospital.
I'm sure she must have had it coming.
