BBC News this morning was doing a piece on Trump's first 100 days. Objective it wasn't. It was as good an attempt as I have seen to ridicule a world leader.

They barely stopped short of running the Benny Hill theme tune whilst focusing on Trump's gaffes, before grudgingly adding, "by some measures like immigration and the economoy he's doing OK because things are improving, now back to the studio".

Now, like him or loathe him, shouldn't the BBC and other news agencies at least give Trump a level of respect and balanced treatment instead of pursuing their own political bias? He was, after all, elected by the American people.

In short no.

He is not a politician in anyway and he is finding you cannot run a country in the same way as your business. He cannot make things happen as he has to ask congress who do not like that an inexperienced person has beaten both of the parties best efforts to make him unelectable.

Even if he does half of what he promised, which is a lot, the media would still end their piece with something to remind everyone he once said you can grab a womans pussy.

At first I thought the thread title was "Will Trump ever get hair treatment", and I'd been wondering the same thing.

No, they won't let up, he represents the anti-establishment too much. People are invested in seeing him fail.

But nor should he be cut any slack. "They" (in the broadest sense) still don't seem to appreciate that the more unusual and unfair criticism they level against him, the more they push people away and make them think about things. People eventually notice that he's being given an unusually hard time. Makes people curious.

The most damning thing they could do would be to completely ignore him, but they're not capable of that. Meanwhile as they continue to slate him but he continues to actually be doing OK when you dig into it, they simply erode their own credibility and make him look more credible in exchange. It's funny in a tragic way.

fk Trump. He's the most unpresidential, nepotistic, under qualified charlatan ever to lie his way to the White House in a massively overcrowded field. AFAIAC, the BBC aren't putting the boot in enough.

What a complete load of twaddle!
Elected by the American people in a democratic election. The system ain't perfect, but its a whole load better than many. & why aren't the BBC ripping in to the likes of bully-boy Putin, or Mugabe who got some 99% of the 'electorate'??
As the OP states, continuous ridicule by the BEEB & others is getting very tiresome - no balance whatsoever. Almost as bad as the non-stop anti-Brexit 'reporting', & I dread to think what their headlines will be if Le Pen wins the French elections.....

Talking of twaddle. Trump gets the bullets because he's the president of the United states. That's a big deal in the world, if you want to get into whataboutery with Mugabe & Putin gets plenty off the BBC. Not my fault you choose not to see it.

Fill your boots. And the fact that Trump was elected is meaningless. I'm under no obligation to acquiesce simply because he came first in a two horse race.
That argument boils down to - he won fair & square, therefore you must support him. Horsest!

If he stops saying and doing ridiculous things, the ridicule will subside. He reaps what he sows.

Trumpsters in yet another 'omg it's not fair' crybaby shocker. Oh, it's the media, oh it's the MSM, oh it's the 'establishment'. It's always someone else. Trump is golden, the bestest.

I try and have no bias either way. I'm not an American voter and originally just observed from afar trying to pick apart biased media.

All I know for sure is I'm now bored of the constant media bashing. Whether it is too much or not enough is irrelevant. I'm bored of it and hence now ignore 99% of it. If he does something truly great or truly terrible I'll probably miss it due to being swamped by all the other crap.

Everyone now falls into one of two camps.
1. You've already made up your mind. The media will therefore either be fair or unfair depending on your own biases.
2. You're bored and don't care.

Proof, were it needed, that those keenest on using the term have not a clue what it means.

It's lost all meaning these days.

You're subconsciously equating Trump with lunatics like Putin and Mugabe, and at the same time wondering why he's getting unfair treatment from the press?

Too right he's getting a hard time. He deserves a hard time.

"When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.”

That and all his tweets that are coming back to haunt him - I think he's put himself in that position, he's only himself to blame that people are trying to hold him accountable

What's twaddle about the fact that he has employed half his family in public office? Ade they the best people for the job? Do they have skills and experience in similar roles? Oh, they don't. So who chose them and why?
