Andrew Turner MP for the Isle of Wight told a group of A level students that homosexuality was 'wrong' and 'dangerous to society'.

He has since resigned but in his resignation statement made no mention of the incident never mind an apology.

The accepting and forward thinking Conservative party....rolleyes

Right or wrong he's entitled to his view and is free to express it, surely? The Thought Police will have him for contradicting the 'official line'. Equally he might say pre or extra marital sex is wrong but he wouldn't be castigated in quite the same way would he? The verdict on his opinion will be revealed at the election.

One persons view does not a party make. If it does then the according to Cuddly Ken's perspective Labour are one step away from brown shirts, torchlight marches and showers.

What utter tosh to make it seem otherwise.

has a lesbian kick boxer as leader in Scotland.
And has booted him out.

I'm struggling to see your point. Please elaborate.

I think thoughtcrime is wrong and dangerous to society. No doubt I'll be joining him in the queue for reprogramming.

Yet the leader of the lib dems is still there and not going anywhere.

What a liberal forward thinking fellow.

I personally think it's disgusting to stick your nudger up another chap's blurter (or vice versa) but I would not berate anyone of that ilk.

Don't mind lesbians though.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

What a liberal forward thinking fellow.
But at least his voting record is better than the leader of the forward thinking Tories:

Strange post.

Which party do you imagine doesn't have an MP who thinks the same?

I'm not sure those "facts" are quite accurate and not spun. Especially when his second reply to his own tweet says

another Labourite with no clue said:
A Labour govt would raise the minimum wage to £10, renationalise the railways, save our NHS and invest in our economy
Presumably planting shed load of Money trees first though.

rolleyes

Funny how I don't see the OP pontificating about Muslims stating Gays should be killed. Even the most daft Member of Parliament doesn't call for that.

I'm sure this sort of view is pretty common regardless of party, people often think one thing and either say another or simply keep quiet.

It's wrong but I don't think it can be equated with the party.

What on earth does 'wrong' mean in this context? It is not against the law, so that's out. If it's a nasty thing in his religion then say so.

Come to that, 'dangerous to society' needs some explanation as well. If he is suggesting that society will explode, implode, dissolve or become more left wing, then he needs to explain why it hasn't happened over the last few thousand years.
