I'm a bit fed up with these posters saying crap like "well i'm not her greatest fan this threads awful but I cant see any bias in the programme". Blatantly these are right wing plants infiltrating all levels of social media. It needs to stop

First up she is the longest serving politician that appeared on that programme. Where was the announcement of that and the applause that a respectful audience would give ?
Second as tribute to her longevity why wasn't a brief video shown of all her achievements to the audience
Third why was she sat as she was. A higher chair elevating her above the others would have been respectful and showed the prestige she should command
Four why were the questions asked as they were. Surely a much better programme could have been made if the questions were about:
The windrush scandal
The scourge and shame of British colonialism
The lack of respect and ingrained sexism of men born before 1985
Had those subjects been the questions then a very different Question Time would have been seen

Cor blimey. I got as far as "third" before I checked to see who was posting this. Then realised we can all relax; normal service is resumed.

I don't agree with much of what Diane Abbott says but the way she is abused and insulted in the media makes me cringe.

It quite clearly IS because she's a black woman, they wouldn't dare if she was a white man.

It's actually disgraceful.
Is it now?

Where is the abuse and insults in the media for these black women MPs?

Janet Daby
Eleanor Smith
Marsha de Cordova
Kemi Badenoch
Chi Onwurah
Helen Grant
Dawn Butler

Where's the abuse and insults for the other 30-40 odd ethnic minority MP's?

Bullst.

Donald Trump is a white man and gets much more abuse than Abbott.
He gets abuse because of what he thinks.

Abbott gets abuse because she is a total hypocrite, a racist and and seems genuinely incapable and incompetent at any role she is given.

If you don't grasp that - there is little point of debate

It is a handy thing to have as a politician having Black Skin, you can use it to blame others for your own abilities. Abbott has never shied from using it when it suites her and now is an example.

On QT she was utterly incompetent, she had no idea of a policy except to say whatever the Tories come up with is bad. She tried to speak down to people questioning her views and when they reacted to her comments negatively, it is now claimed it is because she is Black.

She is inept pure and simple and get called out for that and that alone. Farage, JRM, Gove all get stick no worse than she does for being posh.
This x 1000

clap
Yep. Perfect wannabe victim narrative.

I've been very impressed with Fiona Bruce on QT. Actually calls out the panellists if they don't answer the question and controls the debate very well imo. Much better than Dimbleby.

dianne abbot receives abuse like this (see image) every single day. no matter what you think of her political judgements, nobody should be subjected to this kind of torrent of hate-filled, racial and misogynstic abuse. this thread is not making things better or offering any solutions to the situation above (and i would argue probably makes it worse) and should be closed. it's about basic human decency.

I feel that you've somewhat undermined your point by posting an image that features two posts from 2012, and a significant proportion of the rest from (at least) 8-9 months ago. A good proportion of that isn't even sexist or racist, I bet I could make a more effective argument given access to her twitter.

I have no doubt that she receives racist/sexist abuse, but that doesn't invalidate genuine criticism of her ability.

Everyday? A compilation of spanning years! rofl

And what's so offensive about the comment from 'fears order 66' in the picture?

Seems spot on to me.
