Has anyone recently trailered their car from the UK to the French Alps or South of France? Chamonix, Lyon, that kind of thing.

Rough cost for one-way or return?
Any recommendations for companies?

Obviously aware of various shippers and comparison sites, and have had some quotes, but curious to see what benchmarks are out there.

If there is a few of you, share a transporter, we had four cars, £800 each, one way.

Last year I was quoted 4000 euro for 3 cars in one truck to go to Zurich (1000km)
Optional insurance was on top @ 3% of value

Thanks, all.

Being quoted ~£2000 return, so broadly inline with others' quotes.

Posted it on Shiply and got 6 quotes back. Interestingly, two of them have just knocked their offers down to ~£1500 this evening. Will look over the weekend into whether they have good ratings, good insurance, etc.

I did the same earlier in year....just check their insurance and credentials if you know what I mean. Nearly got caught.
