Manchester is a city close to my heart and it's been great; the response worldwide - to the tragedy... but the over the top, emotional celebrity / public outbursts frustrate me; do these people not realise that we fund and and do deals with people committing these types of atrocities the world over... that's not lost on me; but it seems it is on almost everyone popping up on telly.

The other thing that is frustrating is that; whenever a tragedy like this occurs; we get told that 'this is not islam' and 'Islam is a religion of peace' - WHEN IT IS NOT. Islam was spread by the sword from its inception and nothing has changed. These people that trot out the tired lines about Islam are liars. Anyone can pick up Quran and read it; it's there in black and white; instructions and inspiration for killing non believers - basically anyone not Muslim. It's a death cult.

To give some balance to this post; all religion is barmy; every one of them.

It's be nice is our intelligence partners in the US could stop leaking the things we're sharing with them.

So now it appears the fire brigade bosses prevented fire engines from attending for 90 minutes.

Interesting point of view. From a man who I'd normally class as full of st, this doesn't appear to be too wide of the mark. Other than the bit about the Queen which is garbage.

I'd agree with most of what he said, too.

The Manchester suicide bomber was repeatedly flagged to the authorities over his extremist views, but was not stopped by officers, it emerged last night.

Counter Terrorism agencies were facing questions after it emerged Salman Abedi told friends that “being a suicide bomber was okay”, prompting them to call the Government’s anti-terrorism hotline.

Sources suggest that authorities were informed of the danger posed by Abedi on at least five separate occasions in the five years prior to the attack on Monday night.

So there were supposed to follow him for five years waiting for when he decided to blow himself up?

Such reports would be better put in context if we knew just how many had been reported to the security services for holding extreme views.

Those that reported him to the police, what do they report him for / over?

Hello , I wish to report my friend I am worried about him.

Why ?

He has read the entire Koran and is talking about following its instruction / teachings.

Why do the media always ignore best advice and constantly repeat the perp's name? It's the victims we should remember, not that vile individual.

All day yesterday, the TV was full of supposed ''expert opinion'' offering advice, repeating the same video clips and giving the attackers the coverage they crave.

And when 2 of his friends and the mosque have reported his extremist views to the relevant authorities over a 5 year period. Do you still blame Muslims for not doing anything?
I blame Islam for generating so much need to report/follow/keep a watch on so many that our security forces are swamped to the extent that we miss a few
Of course you do. Didn't think for one moment you'd be able to acknowledge Muslims doing exactly what they're asked to do if they have concerns about someone within their community.
Nice try.....but I do acknowledge it and am glad to see it happen. Please stop trying to bend things to fit your own agenda.

The FBI and CIA said last night it wasn't them. They are pointing the finger at the DHS (Department for Homeland Security). Either way, somebody needs their arse, closely followed by their nuts, kicking very hard indeed.

48 hours and we've done what? We've rightly cried, we've expressed regret, we've held hands and we've lit candles.
Theresa May - that motherfker murderer has just returned from Libya. You have the intel to know where that was trained, you can see the camp by satellite. Even if you get it a bit wrong, send in the RAF and bomb the fk out of them or resign. We claim we have a defence, well defend! Show the world that we aren't French, that you can't fk with us, that we WILL NOT STAND for enemies operating within us. I've said it before but it if our Govt won't then let the people sort it. Those poor kids, their unimaginably distressed parents. It's war - take the war to them and show them you can't fk with us. Furious but we are so weak! How would Churchill react? You owe it to those poor kids!

I think sticky's view are pretty tame on this. We should levy the cost of all this against 'them' smile

It's the only option....what do you reccommend?.....this is a new kind of war, it cannot be fought with intelligence alone, eventually bones have to be broken.

Would make me a bit happier if we buried their camp. The whole region needs nuking.

Is anyone else a bit skeptical of how quickly the "facts" have emerged from the Libyan security service (whatever they may be)?

It just seems a bit too quick - the brothers open admission, the father's deflection.

I'm not suggesting that said facts are not true, just less than 48 hours after the event, so much has been given up.

That said, it was also a bit too soon to be reaching for the knacker-sack electrodes.

The public will probably never know exactly what the relationship is between the UK (and US) security services & this particular "government" in Libya.

But add in the recent collapse of the case against the guy accused of the murder of PC Yvonne Fletcher & the alleged shenanigans of his wife (both living in the UK), I wonder what the bigger picture is.
