Yep, I have one that I built from when they were first released. Real easy to build and the sort of kit that really needs extra detail adding to the engine, considering the size of the model. To get the best out of it you need to consider painting the interior as the model will look so much better.

I bought a second kit about 10 years ago, along with an Autograph transkit. One day I hope to find the time to actually build it.

I got mine as a present for doing well at my GCSE's, that was in 1992! I dont know why but seem to think they were around the £500 mark, could be way off though!
One tip I have thought of, when fitting the orange side repeaters on the bonnet, push them through the hole in the bodywork, and instead of gluing, use a heated knife or blade to melt the piece that pokes through the other side. They are fiddly little lenses if you try to glue them.

I thought they were closer to £200 back then? I remember buying a Pocher Testarossa around the same time. Because it was white, and a convertible, it had been sitting on the shop shelf for a while, so they reduced it to under £100.
I picked up the second F40 just after they stopped being on general sale, paid about £300 for it on eBay. The seller was a model shop up north. Apparently they had sourced it for Nigel Mansell, but he never collected it.
The transkit cost about £400, from the USA.
Both would sell for at least twice that now, maybe £1700 for the pair.
I've got a Pocher Alfa as well, which I bought from my Dad about 45 years ago. Building the wheels was a bit too fiddly for him, so he sold it to me for half what he paid. A couple of months of my paper round money.
One day I might get round to finishing that one too....
