Such sad news. The Man Who Haunted Himself and some old episodes of The Saint shall get an airing this week ...

This is a shock. And a sad event on top of an already profoundly sad day.

The greatest Bond, never took it too seriously and made the films just a bit silly which was brilliant. Good man.

RIP Roger.

He's been quite outspoken about big game hunting recently and gained a bit more respect from me. I already thought he was a decent sort, certainly not the sort of celebrity to take themselves too seriously.

He was my era Bond, and great at it too. Didn't seem to take himself too seriously and seemed a nice guy.

RIP Sir Roger.

A true world star. Sharing the same surname & initial I've lost track of the number of phone calls I've had in hotel rooms the world over asking for an autograph!

Also struck me as somebody who you could have an entertaining evening with.

First and only time I have ever been guilty of being starstruck! Helped him with his bags in Geneva airport a while back, suited to the 9's and such a classy guy. As the first Bond I watched was Live and Let Die - he was always my favourite!

As someone said, another sad point to a very sad day.

What a sad day.
frown

Roger Moore was the Bond I knew growing up. Live & Let Die was the first film we had on VHS video (with a cord on the "remote"). But the one part which I always remember him for was playing Seymour Goldfarb, Jr in Cannonball Run - "running around like some gooy movie star named Roger Moore".

RIP Sir Roger.
