Agree with others here, l always thought of him as the best bond.
I wouldn't say he was the best Bond but he was certainly the one I grew up with. (His fave was Daniel Craig)

I loved his style, his humour and the charming, witty and cheeky side he brought to Bond, with so many performances delivered with a real glint in his eye.

A sad loss, RIP

All human emotion expressed in the raising of a single languid eyebrow.

Now that is style.

A feature which Spitting Image captured so well too.

Terrible shame, he was my bond.

His diary from the making of live and let die is a damn good read unfortunately an ex gave my copy to a charity shop but if you can find a copy it's brilliant.

I've got that! Never heard of anyone else who's even heard of it. I found mine in a used bookshop for about 3 quid. Abebooks prices now seem to have gone into 3 figures for it, which is madness. Really good account of daily life on set though.

Very sorry to hear this, he wasn't my favourite Bond, Sean Connery was, but that's just my 2p.

I used to love him in Ivanhoe as a kid...smile

Sir Roger was my Bond as the first 007 I saw was 'The Spy who Loved Me'.

Apparently a gentleman on and off screen and with a hardness that wasn't often seen in public. I'm paraphrasing but I remember an interview with Lee Marvin, actor and WWII U.S. Marine Purple Heart winner. Marvin was asked about various hard men he had met over the years and said that one who stood out and got his respect was Moore; apparently Moore was one of the few men who could drink as much as he could, still stand up, and could take a punch batter than anyone else he'd met... 'Because I was the sonofabh that hit him'.

RIP Sir Roger Moore.

He was a good version of Bond that worked well and still amuses with little offence (other than random race and sexism of the day).

He always made an impression on screen and was instantly recognisable.

RIP.

Not as good as Sean in the Bond roll, but is the quintessential Englishman. Top chap.

Sadly I now only have my signed photo of Jet from Gladiators on my bedside cabinet frown

I think the way he portrayed Bond after Sean was pure genius . His one liners were just comedy gold and as a young boy they didn't mean anything to me until later on in life.

I love that film. A celebrity death which has made me genuinely very sad.
