Where have those statistics come from?
If either earnings or inflation are rising by more than 2.5% anyway then ending the triple lock saves nothing.
The income level when winter fuel payments are withdrawn has not been announced.
1, Siddicks, or others, can explain far more eloquently than me.If either earnings or inflation are rising by more than 2.5% anyway then ending the triple lock saves nothing.
The income level when winter fuel payments are withdrawn has not been announced.
2. Potential bks from the Tory manifesto then.
3, There is not now going to be a winter fuel payment withdrawal.

Whilst this is a grubby deal, my gut feel is that it is better than the alternatives. If you were TM, what would you have done differently since the election?
I would have resigned. She called a GE and asked the electorate to back her strong and stable leadership.
They didn't buy it.

Well factually enough voted for the Conservatives relative to the other parties, to give them the option of forming a government with the help of the DUP.It is a fact that they reduced the number of seats they had, and i would also accept they probably didnt expect the result that happened.
But ultimately its now the past, and we all need to move forward.

Run a minority government and seeked consensus with other parties on important issues to do the best for the country? Like grownups do?p1stonhead said:

aye, that's what it is. Complete farce. May is utterly uselessThis deal is more than grubby. It is the most disgusting, shameful action I have ever seen from a UK Politician.
I understand why people are excusing this as 'better than the alternative', but I think we have to face the reality that we have a weak leader, who has cost the taxpayer £1bn directly as a result of her pride.
Once the Tories are safely in power, she will be ripped to shreds. There will be a leadership challenge within a matter of weeks.

She's a laughing stock.
To those defending it as "the best deal in the circumstances" a hypothetical.
The election results come in and it becomes clear that Labour and the SNP and Green(s) could form a government with a majority of one.
Nicola Sturgeon names her price and it's $5bn for Scotland and Caroline Lucas asks for £50m additional funding for Brighton Council.
Corbyn says yes.
How is it any different? Yet I suspect the reaction here would be very different because people view it through red and blue lenses rather than right and wrong.

Can you clarify your maths on that. The party's you refer to would have 298 Seats to the Conservatives 318
So even if you meant to add the Lib Dems as well, then that group would only have 310.
No matter which permutation you try with the Conservatives would be in power, as Sinn Fein historically do not take their seats.
And i the DUP would have been very unlikely to align themselves with Labour.
Your comment unfortunately sounds very much like the generalised headlines i so often read on Facebook. And not helped by Corbyns sweeping statements about him forming a Government. When he quite clearly was not in a position to do so.
