Hard to imagine a learned chap such as youself isn’t familiar with the colloquialisms of this isle.

I was making a perhaps too subtle point about the language used to describe women, especially youngish and attractive women. If the dead person had been a male of the same aged as the murdered woman, would the poster have said "poor lad"? Language choices may sometimes have an unconscious effect on thought.

Back on topic, I wonder at what point shrinks will get involved, if not involved already. Mad, bad, or both? I am reminded of the Breivik case, although this one lacks the hatey politics.

He has to have had a certain amount of intelligence to have been able to design a submarine etc. However it seems like he has issues related to being a pyschopath or something. And in this case didn't think about how to cover up the crime very much at all.

Someone so intelligent is used to people believing what they say. That was his downfall. Interestingly he kept her underwear as it was found in the sub.

The whole thing is so gruesome I really hope he gets what he deserves.

Not related to this discussion, but you don't have to have a fractured skull to die of a head injury..... all sorts of intracranial bleeds, oedema (swelling) are all secondary to the force of injury.

What a tragic case. A young journalist simply trying to gather information and do an interview for an interesting story she was going to write and ends up being sexually assaulted, murdered and then cut up into several pieces and dumped at sea.

a few flaws with that tale

1/ he wouldn't know if it was CO or CO2

2/ both are odorless and tasteless - he would have also succumbed when he went down below

3/ unless he knew in advance before descending somehow with full breathing apparatus - kinda beggars belief

4/ and the autopsy would surely reveal CO levels in her bloodstream ?
