I can barely believe the outcome of electing an egomaniac reality TV star with a knack for bankrupting Casinos isn't quite what people had hoped for. It's almost as if a man who lives in a Golden apartment in New York who said to poor people in the rust belt - Trust me, I'll stand with you, look out for your interests wasn't being entirely truthful.

The NFL thing defies comprehension. There's not a facepalm meme in existence that would do it justice.
Not at all, it may seem as a daft tactic to us, but in the US it makes sense.

Just as here in the UK we look at premiership footballers as being overpaid pathetic babies, the same goes in the US.
His core supporters and most of working America will not view this as brave NFL players standing up to a tyrant, they will view it as insanely rich spoiled brats trying to get their own way again.

Whatever the players say/do, they will not come across well. All Trump has to do now is throw in the "overpaid" sportsmen card.

Do we? Admittedly some of them are prats (and alleged granny-shagging drink drivers) but a lot of them are fairly decent people. It's only the knobheads that get news time.

I'd argue that "insanely rich spoilt brats" wouldn't be risking their careers to make a political point if they weree overpaid pathetic babies. It would be far easier to keep your head down and think of the money.

Joe Biden looking like he might consider another run at President. Clever man, knows hard times, I liked this quote

“America’s ability to lead the world depends not just on the example of our power, but on the power of our example.”

Not sure if he came up with that or not, but even though now fairly old now he still has his marbles, something I am not sure about current Pres.

Joe could probably mend some of the bridges burnt. Will not be unhappy if he is 46.

Way to completely miss the point.
It matters not your point of view on premiership footballers, maybe I am biased in having met quite a few back in younger days.

What matters is the US view of the NFL.

I guess black fans may have a different view to white ones, but I guess Trump doesn't care about black fans of the NFL or NBA.

Quite so, and he doesn't need the support of many of the areas impacted either. This is potentially benefitting him in the key areas for the midterms in a years time

Trump is willing to start a race war as he cares about nothing except himself, everyone is a target who doesn't live in a golden penthouse.

Nope, not across the country. But tell the poor white folk a rich black dude is dishonouring the flag and it's only going to go one way.
