You jest but his heel spurs fixed themselves after the war and don't bother him to this day. If the ability to shape shift and reverse conditions that usually get worse with age aren't the most presidential of attributes I don't know what are.

I have a friend who has had to visit parents in rural Indiana, she has had to put up with elderly relatives who are all like this guy. She could only take it for so long. biggrin

The Alabama state auditor's defense of Roy Moore was that he did nothing wrong, since Mary was a teenager when she met Joseph. I wish I was kidding.

"While countries like Zimbabwe, Malawi and El Salvador have recently banned child marriage, it remains legal in the US - and half of states have no set minimum age below which you cannot get married."

Not sure how you can compare Obama with Trump to be honest. Obama had more class in his little finger than Trump has in his entire 23 stone lardbucket of a body.
Oh, most definitely, +100 times
So its all about class rather than effectively enacting the will of the people?
(Not saying that this is what Trump is doing, just that one of the reasons why politics has become a bit "unstable" in recent years is due to people falling out of favour with the so called "political class").
It's a natural in built prejudice that we all have.

If you have two equally competent people in a job or situation. But one is better looking and his seen to have more class than the other. The better looking one will just find it easier and be treated better. People will want to be their friend and be more likely to listen to them compered to the less attractive person.

Obama was a great example of this so are people like the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and the French President Emmanuel Macron. All seemed or seem to be mediocre in terms of effectiveness. But are still held in high regard within the MSM.

But what if you have one who is perfectly competent and one who is a total liability, proven liar, abusing the constitution, using the position to profit friends and family and under investigation for treason basically ?

I won't mention the R word.

Indeed. Nothing says “masculinity “ more than denying you have a small penis on national TV....

No it's because he's a c nt. But there is certainly a lot of observational evidence to the assertion that the tall, attractive and well coiffured (?) get a free ride in all walks of life, especially business and politics.

I think many people (not pointing the finger at anyone), usually assume a person has to be nice to be effective.
Trump may not be a nice person, but his presidency should be measured on effectiveness. Will he deliver what his people voted for?

I guess it doesn't really matter if he's a bell-slap or if he's a charming polite individual. In the world of politics I think its more about just getting things done and doing them effectively with efficient cost to the taxpayer. (I do think he could handle international diplomacy a lot better though).

People were getting tired of the 'political class' saying one thing, blatantly lying through their smiling teeth and either nothing happening or the opposite what they were saying was happening.

At least Trump tells it like it is. He doesn't really hide behind a shroud of clever wording and political spinning. (Obviously arguable in some respects, but is this more so or less than previous presidents?)

Thus far Trump has failed to deliver on most things that he promised. His effectiveness is poor. He has no interest in leadership or delivering anything for voters. The Presidency is for him an opportunity to enrich his family and boost his already swollen ego, whilst pursuing some of his personal hobby horses such as racism and anti-science.

It was more of a observation on Obama who is still seen has a hero. He was in power for 8 years achieved very little and what he did achieve millions voted for someone who made it clear that he would replace most if it.

Obama's legacy was that at the end of his term in power the american people where more divided then ever and decided to vote for Trump rather that his recommended successor and his party. But yeah hes got charm and charisma that came across well so its all good.
