Got to love CNN

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump Nov 25
.@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!

To which CNN replied
CNN Communications‏Verified account @CNNPR Nov 25
Replying to @realDonaldTrump
It's not CNN's job to represent the U.S to the world. That's yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst 🍎

I agree with you there, I assume you are on about half the people on this thread though?

Since Mueller was appointed, Trump has not given a single interview to CNN, CBS, ABC or NBC i.e. the main media outlets ion the US. He has only given interviews to Fox.

Trump knows that Time Magazines "Person of the Year" normally results in a round of interviews with all the main players in the US media. It is highly likely that he has decided to withdraw himself from any chance of being selected as Time magazine's Person of the Year because of his fear of interviews that he has no control over or with interviewers who might ask him some hard questions.

Would be great if someone at the state sponsored media (Fox) ambushed him with some actual tough questions during an interview. Doubt Shepard Smith would ever be allowed near him though - actually not quite sure how he hasnt been let go from Fox yet for being, you know, normal.

Possibly he is saying "he did not want it anyway" to prevent him looking needy for it? After he got a whiff of not in the serious running perhaps. He has form with Time and Obama was on it twice as Person of the year and many more times outside that.

I think he was actually on the list to be "Person of the Year" but would prefer NOT to be feted by what he considers vehicles of "fake news" and consequently having to undergo interrogation by them.
The Person of the Year award is not given to people by Time because they particular like or support that person. The award is given to people who they feel have had an impact in the year - not always for the good.

Adolf Hitler was Person of the Year in 1938.
Josef Stalin in 1942
Nikita Khrushchev in 1957
Richard Nixon in 1971
The Ayatollah Khomeini in 1980

It would be great that they went after all politicians with the same zeal.

Not sure what they have in the US but we seem to be very weak on the press good hard hitters for interviews at the moment. A few perhaps but they are not let loose enough. Whether that is a weakness or the news orgs reigning them in. Of course there is at the bias across all rags/media.
