Trying some reverse psychology here this year. Absolutely no snow currently forecast, but the poor summer (up north, anyway) is rolling quickly in to a poor autumn.

The first proper low pressure and wind storm of the season is arriving. Tuesday night in to Wednesday morning, north Wales, Cheshire, Yorkshire up to the Borders will get the worst of it.

Just had to chase my hard hat down the road after the wind blew it off.

Great - I have the roof off my house at the moment and we are only protected by a temporary roof scaffold, part of which has already come loose with the current wind.

Yup, from our week of summer this year. It does feel "cold" this week. Missus mentioned heating. Not in September darling wink. Put some fking clothes on.

Long range forecast. No snow chaps(sorry) I'll have the winters on for my ski trip to Austria.

It's minging in Cheshire today.

Cold, windy and rainy. Leaves already shedding.

I'd say that was the worst summer we have had for a while - certainly at weekends. I bought a job lot of decent charcoal and got most of it left.

I have nothing concrete to add to this thread other than to get it in My Stuff.

Probably no snow though as I'm getting CrossClimate X's fitted all round shortly.

How can they possibly forecast that already?

I've moved to the top of a hill and put a deposit down on a E60 BMW 550, so will likely get snowmageddon.

It'll be in your bookmarks then, but if you watch it it will be in "my stuff". I think.

Some snow would be lovely this winter, anything away from drizzle and grey and comparatively mild....

Came close to putting the heating on although gonna wait until my log burning stove is installed early next month.

I am going back to university this year, so I am sure it will be the coldest winter since records were unfrozen. Still though. Nice to have a bit of chat here.

Feels very Autumnal now though. Nights are drawing in!

I'm based in Aberdeen this winter with an M2 for daily transport so there'll surely be snow.

Looking quite serious tonight and in to tomorrow morning now - check out http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warning... for more

Amber warning for North Wales, Cheshire, Lancashire, S Yorks, Lincs type area - 75mph winds possible. Trees are still in full leaf (for now!), so more liable to fall.

High tide around 12 where I am, the local pier gets some spectacular waves up it. Worth a visit I think.

Had a weather warning down here on the south coast for tonight and tomorrow morning. High winds etc expected. Storm Aileen is due here soon. Come on!
