Where did he say they weren't genuine MPs?
It's a simple fact that they aren't "genuine MPs" - they're genuine MSPs, instead. Big difference. One is the government of a sovereign state, the other is the first tier of regional government within that sovereign state.

Just like my local county councillor... albeit with more powers under devolution.

Being genuine MPs doesn't necessarily mean they were there as official observers, does it?
There are international bodies who provide official, neutral election observers - such as the OSCE's ODIHR. Without neutrality, observation carries no weight.

I can't see how anybody could credibly argue an SNP politician was neutral in a referendum like this.

lets be honest, SNP are not real MPs. If you handed them a screw driver you would have to tell them which end is the handle, this is the caliber of person we are dealing with. Yes i live in Scotland.
Do you get get your inspiration from English MP's or more from English party's then? Anyone in particular? Cyril Smith? Ress-Mogg? Jeffrey Archer? Neil Hamilton? Edwina Currie? Ted Heath? That guy with the high maintenance moat/duckouse? All those guys that 'did an Aitken' and lied on oath and got banged up - even for 3 speeding points? Maybe you prefer the charm of Amber Rudd or Caroline Flint >blood runs cold< biggrin SNP seems to lack the above skill sets so seem very honourable, Scotland focused and rather genuine in comparison - if unfit for DIY!

Are you saving the killer 'trump card' a.k.a. Keith Vaz for another argument?

So Spain goes nuclear and invokes 155.

I’m sure that’ll totally get it under control...

I don’t really know enough about it but is this as bad as Westminster removing the devolved Scottish Parliament or does the region have much less self governance?

Pretty similar, I think.

The only way Catalonia will leave Spain is via a State organised Referendum. The only way it appears Catalonia can get this to happen is through extreme means, and to take on the state in defiance until sufficient global pressure is applied to the Spanish Government.

Seeing how determined those on election day were makes it likely they will go down that route - those people on the telly seemed to be willing to give their lives for it.

The Catalan politicians don't seem to be willing to go to jail themselves though, seeing how they didn't declare independence as expected.

Worst case is some splinter group creating a Catalan version of ETA. ETA disbanded to seek independence through peaceful, democratic means, something the Catalans seem to have exhausted.

It is going to end with quite a few hundred civilian deaths.

Spanish referendums on Catalonia involve every Spanish citizen.
Catalonia is the cash cow. Spain will not let it go.

Sad times ahead.

Doesn't Gib count - the RN are there, and it's just off the coast of Spain?
