I cant see a thread anywhere however, this has been all over local radio today.

Seems a very odd incident.

BBC report `thousands` have been stuck for hours:

Bit like the M1 closure on Thursday - due to what seemed to be a bin bag full of hydrochloric acid & custard - haven`t seen any further details of that.

Oh not again... rolleyes
Probably some paint or other chemical product fell off the back of a Homebase lorry. Apparently it was called in at 4 in the morning - surely a 10 minute clean up job with a jet wash would be sufficient?? The over-reaction to all these things in the UK is getting a bit silly now - much like the Parsons Green bucket 'device' requiring most of London's emergency services & seemingly all of the Met's armed officers to attend.....

UK authorities are clearly very jumpy and expect a "big one" at any moment.

I always wondered why they hadn't used the letter B to G before now.

I remember the A1 being shut for a day because somebody thought they heard a bang.

Interesting to see that the Royal Navy bomb disposal squad use a larger vehicle than the RLC EOD vehicles

Its only just above A bomb, but nowhere near as large as an H bomb.

Was just reading the Daily Wail article on this incident, and it looks like only moderated comments from readers are being permitted today... The DM only moderates comments when something controversial is happening...

Coming days after the (very similar) M1 acid incident, this M3 thing does indeed look rather odd.

Speculation that these incidents are a dirty-b*mb dry run and testing the authorities' response.

The DM article has a long-lens photo of a chap in a forensics suit with a camera next to some unidentifiable objects:

Looks the same to me; back door is open, makes it look longer?

And behaviour of people and resilience of surrounding roads and infrastructure.

Sadly I agree... they have been reacting very quickly to suspect packages... something may be about to happen.

Time to think about carrying a 'survival' / endurance pack in the car. Food, water, warm stuff, phone charger, football... what else would you carry?
