if the earth is spinning why when say when a helicopter hovers does the earth not spin away from it? not even a little bit spin under it?
The helicopter takes off with the same spin as the earth, the air is also travelling at the same speed.

As long ago as WW1, the Germans were having to take account of the spin of the earth when aiming the "paris cannon" which put the first man-made objects into space. Actual physical demonstration of the fact, 100 years ago.
shouldn't the air be moving slower than the earth? friction and all that?

Why do you keep bringing religion into threads that have nothing to do with religion? Are you ChrisGB or something?

Hardcore atheists who bring it up all the time seem to be under the illusion they are any less tedious than god botherers who talk about god all the time.... that's an odd theory

Just ours I think. The general theory is that we are the only 'true' planet and all the other celestial bodies are actually much smaller and closer than NASA would have us believe.

if a car is moving why when say when a fly hovers inside it, does the car not move away from it? not even a little bit of movement under it?

If your logic is correct, then cars do not move either!

Where's the curve he says.

Has he never seen the horizon? Or a ship come up over it as it approaches? He can't believe this- probably purely amusing himself at the expense of the gullible.

Where do these people suggest the edge is ?

Surely it would be cheaper to sail / travel around the equator ? If he lives then it is a sphere if he dies then he was right !
They believe that Antartica is actually just a huge wall of ice and that the treaty to 'not go there' was signed as part of the conspiracy. See also the apparent lack of direct flights between places south of the equator - apparently because the actual distance between Cape Town and Melbourne is too far to fly. So the planes go via what is actually a straight line across places like Dubai. They do take it very seriously.
Surely they could all club together and hire a plane or ship to prove their theory once and for all?

I suspect that particular Venn diagram has a significant overlap.
