Scotland Yard have been given a further £154,000 by the Home Office to continue their search until March for a (then) three year old girl who vanished ten years ago in another country.

Dumb waste of cash. If there's appeal funding still there, use that. If not, a line needs drawing under it.

Surely, he has got to be high up in the 'masons' or have dirt on someone important, for this to carry on getting government funding for so long ?

I've been monitoring public feeling on this for some time and whilst there has been a general tone which lacked sympathy, the mood has changed to one of utter oppprobrium towards the parents for some time. It seems a considerable proportion of the public are angry that public money is still being spent on this.

I'd like to think the public are smart enough to distinguish between if there's a genuine hope of finding the girl rather than the parents shouting loudly enough for long enough.

I don't know what new evidence or leads have lead to the additional money but equally I wouldn't want to see any genuine lead ignored out of a desire to punish the parents.

I still think this story would be very different in lots of ways had it been Wayne and Tracey from Dewsbury leaving their child whilst they went out on the piss and you do wonder how many other missing children investigations get £154k spent on them in total.

This investigation went wrong in the first twenty four hours I believe

How can they hope to recover those lost opportunities?

How have you monitored it out of interest?
Would love to see your results.

Did the 'other' thread get taken down then? The only shocking thing about it the last time I looked was the number of people still bothering to post on it...

Parents prioritised going on the piss over doing their job as parents. How they are not up for some form of neglect god only knows.

No, it's because any crimes that might have been committed are outside the jurisdiction of the British police.

Wait a moment..........................

Imho - because the British authorities cannot conclude their own investigation while legal proceedings continue in Portugal.
