Satirical story started by southend news network and picked up by the daily wail. .

Apparently it's all off now, as hardly anyone on the island could spell referendum...

The Southend News Network is systematically making mainstream journalism and news media look utterly ridiculous and incompetent.

Another 'spoof' that made it into the nationals as a real thing was the M25 being shut in its entirety over Christmas for maintenance work.

Spelt is more common in British English, very rare in American English; personally I'm British.

Indeed; I believe both 'spelt' and 'spelled' are correct, but spelt is what I was taught.

Can the rest of the UK vote ?.

If so, I would like to have a vote on whether these should stay in the UK:-

Middlesbrough
Tower Hamlets
Rochdale
Mansfield
Bootle
Bradford

- have I forgotten anyone ?
