On the subject of hunger striking idiots..
There used to be a chap who was a regular letter writer to The Rochdale Observer back in the ‘80s. He was called Mohammed Saleem if memory serves, and he was what would now be called an Islamic Fundamentalist- back then he was just known to be a Britain hating freeloader. He’d have some bile ridden torrent in the letters page every week - used to send people apoplectic
Anyway, he went on hunger strike on the town hall (very grand building, might I add) steps. He was a rather disliked individual and people were throwing pork pies at him.
