I don't think he would, especially given the sexual harassment issues that he is now facing.

He's already had to take time off for anxiety and mental health issues - it didn't work then, so unlikely to make a difference a second time.

What 'work' has he actually done so far?

As far as I understand the good people of Hallam want him out because he's been totally useless as a consituency MP, only getting in on a tide of "Whoa-a-oh Jer-e-my Cor-byn" support and even they have seen through him now.

He's just trousering a healthy MP's salary and doing bugger all for it. High time he was gone.

Trending on BBC at the moment - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorksh...

Jared is a joke that just keeps on giving us more and more punchlines...

"I wanted to see what was happening inside the office. I arrive at the nondescript, small office in the centre of Sheffield with Mr Arnold and an 18-year-old man who is introduced to me as the head of communications.
As soon as we walk in, they usher me over to a computer. They are keen to show me a video they have made which mocks their boss, Mr O'Mara, who says he has attempted to take his own life on three occasions. Mr Arnold asks me to stop recording as the video is ridiculing the Sheffield MP.

I asked him about this video later on; he said it was "for sentimental value" and was a "warts-and-all depiction of his [Jared's] time as an MP", which he would not share on social media without Mr O'Mara's consent."

I'm guessing it is just a short video of Jared falling over.

Do you remember when I said that O'Mara and the guy that resigned were both as bad as each other ?
They are both complete little sts and the fact that the other guy is accessing O'Mara's HOP account is a total joke
The office needs to be closed completely

Both Jareds Twitter account and website have been taken offline, and his "Head of Comms" has taken his own Twitter profile down.

The recent BBC documentary is also pretty damning on what is currently happening here -

Pretending to be an MP for the last 2 years!

In all seriousness, there's been a few local constituents who have been trawling his expenses - it's one of the few ways that we could forced a recall petition. Despite his promised resignation, were not taking any chances and wasn't to ensure that it is going, one way or the other.

If he leaves with a criminal record, all the better.

Quite frankly it serves the constituents right for literally voting for anything with a red rosette on.

It had been Lib Dem from 1997 until 2017 and Conservative before that, so I imagine that this particular episode of it being a Labour constituency will be a one off.....

And it wasn’t as if they were giving up a useless nobody for him - forget the politics it’s pretty clear Nick Clegg is just in a different class of decency and capability to Jared.

For all his faults on the national platform, Clegg was a very good local MP, getting involved in lots of local issues and events, and dealing with constituents casework efficiently.

The Lib Dems have been trying to help the local people here in the absence of O'Mara from the early days, and I suspect will take the seat back with ease.

Labour are toxic on this side of Sheffield now, there's a big issue with how the council is run, and none of the councillors from this side of the city are represented in the city council cabinet, yet it is one of those cabinet members who is the Labour candidate.

She's had a very frosty reception while out canvassing in the area.

Are there not various benefits given to MPs who lose their seat in an election?

I’m not suggesting that this might have anything to do with it.

Claiming they are too ill to work but refusing to resign.

Getting jailed yet refusing to resign and remaining on full pay.

Giving their children jobs and hiding their criminal convictions.

Promising to uphold the decision of a vote and working tirelessly to undermine it.

Defecting to a different party and refusing to hold by-elections.

Then they wonder why they are so despised and why extremist parties gain popularity
