I remember on election night watching Nick Clegg give his losers speech then this guy caught my eye giving a horrible mean spirited winners speech that lacked a modicum of magnanimity. Not surprised at all to read this today.

Yes, and I know this is PH, but there are thousands of capable, intelligent, bright, honest people available to both main parties. Finding 650 'proper people' shouldn't be beyond us.

I think they both do a generally terrible job of selecting their candidates.

This particulary instance is a duesie. (doozey? doozie? doozy?) belter.
I believe it's 'doozy'; the etymology is very PH.

I can see how the SNP got caught-out somewhat when they won a boat-load of seatsthey weren't expecting to.

But surely Labour knew they were in with a very good chance of winning Clegg's seat - and this is the calibre of person they put up for the job?

Out of millions, this was their guy?
Because he is one of the best they have.....have you looked at WHO is an MP for Labour ?
He was railroaded in by the Momentum rabble, and they made a bit of an issue on his "diversity credentials". I assume that is his disability, rather than him being ginger!

But he is an obnoxious and immature individual, and while we used to get regular newsletters from Cleggy on what he was doing in the local area, we've not had a sniff of news from this new idiot. I ithink he's too busy getting slaughtered on cheap cider with his scruffy mates at The Harley.

2) get real - this is politics. If it's there as Damien Mcbride noted, it will get found out: it's almost the entire point of the press

3) as the journos on newsnight noted last night, if he was sensible he would be anticipating this stuff before Guido posts. He's not, and I suspect there is a lot more to come out. He was flagged before the election as a likely liability.

IMO he's toast and deservedly so.
He sounds a right charmer. Saying to a woman" I wouldn't touch you with a manky woman's cock."
Whatever than means. Whatever side you are on left or right this is not the type of person I want representing us in parliament.
Such strange behaviour.

All I can do is rest my case with these words
:
Dianne Abbott
Emily Thornberry
Angela Rayner

Just how dumb do you have to be to rest on the back benches ?

He should go, and probably will.

I read that he was a central office supported candidate, not a local choice - don't know how true that is

Everything any MP has ever said or written is now fair game. Same standards apply to all...

Your case is proven, as is mine. Sad though, isn't it? 60 million of us, and some of our 650 MPs should struggle to get onto a Parish Council.

I do quite fancy Emily Thornberry though.

There, I said it.

Me too. Don't worry about others mocking you. They are restricted by their narrow imagination. We both know Emmy is a symbol of eroticism. Shes my very own Medusa.

If you google Emily Thornberry, there's a few photos of Julia Hartley-Brewer that sneak in.

That's surely more popular?

If he does jump or get pushed, Nick Clegg might want his seat back. Talk about a no win situation.
The only thing wrong with Nick Clegg was his choice of party. He worked hard in his constituency and found time for regular phone-ins on Radio Sheffield, even when he was No2. By contrast, Radio Sheffield can't find Jasper O'Mara for an interview right now.

The idiots who berated Clegg don't seem to understand that a coalition means making compromises. What's more worrying is the people who voted him out were students.
