Being serious for a bit (yes I know who HE is and I know what religion SHE is and it was a jokey reference to stereotyping)

This article pretty much sums up how bad the current government situation is.

I think there is more to this. I suspect the dead hand of Leadsom in it. I'm not sure this will do Patel any harm. Quite the opposite is my guess. She won't be sacked. Do they have any other unity candidate? I asked this question many moons ago when I argued May would be leader after Brexit. I was roundly mocked for it. Leadsom cannot do it. Patel could. Who else have they got? Really?

You missed out the bit where after all these meetings she came back and tried to get some of the Foreign Aid budget paid to the Israeli Defence Force as they were doing some "humanitarian" work in a disputed section.
I read that too - unbelievable!

She should be sacked for that for sure and whoever put her up to it.

"On returning, Ms Patel commissioned Department for International Development work on disability and humanitarian and development partnerships between Israel and the UK."

If she survives, the damage to the party will be considerable.

I'm thinking this is very high stakes power politics in the cabinet and probably just tip of an iceberg.

I've long had a theory about her...

Find me a picture where she doesn't look like she's thinking about something dirty.

She has an attractive face but my god have you seen her arse and tummy?

Baby Rhino.

Oh and yes I think she should be sacked but I think she'll survive. May in a very weak position and has a lot on her plate.

The recent tax haven st will give the hacks something else to focus on so it will all blow over.

You know, I see this statement and I think "no I fking don't" I have done nothing to deserve the 2@s, whatsoever. Yes there is an argument that if you don't put yourself forward for election then you'll be "represented" by those that do, but again I look at the few decent human beings who do put themselves forward and they get absolutely bloody nowhere, the party machines, run by self serving scum, have managed to entrench themselves very, very, securely.

Absolutely. She will easily survive this. And be in a very, very strong position. I don't like her much - but she, for my money, is a likely leader. It will be interesting to see if they have the bottle to make the same mistake twice.

I'd go along with that. I'd certainly agree with it at local level its almost impossible to compete against the parties
We have I think 110 or so councillors in our area of those 1 is an independent
Its so difficult to get the necessary resources behind you to make even a start that its just not worth it

All these bds do is look out for themselves
Going back to Priti Patel someone made the point that she will be "saved" by other news hitting - too bloody right she will

If this was a normal slower political news time she would be being ripped constantly on the news. The Paradise thing has subdued that

She lied. Or "lack of precision" as she called it.
Straight out of the Trump phrase book!

She should be sacked, but probably wont be. Mays weakness is quite incredible.

May will be responsible for getting Jezza into number 10. The damage has been done & is beyond repair now.

So, someone from HMG goes speaking dugri with the Israeli PM before his visit to see the UK PM.

If she did this completely off her own bat - that is taking the concept of delegated responsibility a bit too far.
If she as tasked with this, under the radar, then clearly her Boss isn’t getting their fingers dirty now.
Or - she was wined and dined (and corrupted influenced) by friends of the Israeli government to gain some strategic advantage.

None of it is straight forward

TechieDave otherwise would harassing such women in person rather than just electronically laugh

She's safe, as is Boris. The foundations of this government are far too fragile to withstand much in the way of sackings. Not a great situation. Anyone who voted for this shower must feel like a bit of a tool right now.

Yep - she's been on the pies methinks, or perhaps naan bread & ghee. Nice face, shame about the legs.
I went to a kosher Indian restaurant once. It was a bit like the Kumars at no. 42 sketch involving the blandest dish on the menu.
Anyway, clever bh - as one of the tory's finest, she may one day be up against JC. But don't confuse 'Priti' with 'pretty'.....

Nothing yet, he says within hours though.

On the plus side, Priti got one last free trip in, she in on route to Africa for a jolly rofl

Telegraph has found out she cancelled her existing flight and took an earlier one to skip her parliamentary appearance. This is going to make things even worse for her.
