I've really been enjoying my Mugabe Twin. It's all just going to be personal preference so just test ride both and buy the one you prefer.

Is the Triumph capable off road? I wonder how much it weighs?

I for one love my Africa Twin but cannot deny, despite how great it is, a little less weight and a touch more power would have been nice.

It handles corners beautifully and feels super sure footed and lights when rolling.

Can't tell what they're like to live with on an hour-long test ride though. smile

The Crossrunner is 800cc. The Crosstourer is 1200cc. I have a Crosstourer; it's big and heavy but is super comfy for long trips. The DCT version is brilliant. Honda build quality too!

It is a tad heavy and a bit under-powered, another 25bhp would have been good on the AT. I presume the 18 AT is the same power.

Honda don't have a lightweight adv bike in the 700cc class so they could loose some of the market to KTM and Yamah's T700.

The KTM700 has more power than the AT and is lightweight!

Going to get flamed for this but is power the only thing that matters? 100bhp is enough for any touring that I've done and I'd put reliability ahead of just about any other consideration. Second to that would be a decent support network so that if something goes wrong or gets broken then you aren't off the road forever.

By the way Honda does have a half decent adventure bike in the 700cc bracket - have a look at either a Transalp or a NC750X. The Transalp has taken more people off round the world than just about any other bike...

The Honda NC750 range I just can't bring myself to like - they just seem sooooooo dull. The AT is all very nice, but almost as heavy as the tank like GS. getmecoat
Agreed on 100BHP being probably enough & reliability being key, but most modern bikes are so well built these days.
