I don't really plan to make many changes to this car, but I thought I'd start a thread anyway as it's useful to track servicing etc.

Up to October 2017 I'd owned a 2007 335i for six years. Great car but I'd started to get a bit bored of it. I bought a MINI R53 GP which was tremendous fun, and I spent a lot of money on new brakes, wheels etc but ultimately I wanted something a bit more grown-up. I've always wanted a V8, and I'd narrowed it down to a C63 or M3.

So, two months ago I sold the 335i and part-exchanged the MINI for a 2011 E92 M3.

I always had an idea what my perfect specification was, so when this turned up fairly locally I knew it was the one.

Jerez Black over Fox Red leather.
DCT
EDC
HK Audio (would have preferred Individual Audio but it's nigh-on impossible to find)

All I've spent on it so far is on fuel (quite a bit!) and a full two-stage paint correction and ceramic coating.

I absolutely love it. I've never felt such linear power-delivery and it's difficult to not exploit that full rev-range at every safe opportunity!

I've got a load of parts off the GP that I need to sell. Once I've done that, I think I'll use those funds for a headlight modification like below:

BMW Angel Eyes have been around for nearly 20 years haven't they? You could always be original and and stamp your personality on your new motor by NOT fitting them.

Hope you enjoy the car. smile

Sorry I don't know what you mean. My car has angel eyes already. I was suggesting I might get the mod done that modernises them to look like the F80 lights.

Well, I'd save your cash. To the idiot on the street (me) both cars look to have identical headlights.

Looking really good, that.

I'd spend the money on fuel (perhaps driving it to the Ring and back) rather than headlights, but each to their own.

Ah well. I wouldn't be doing it to impress strangers. smile

Of course not.

Must admit I prefer these to the F80 which just looks too medallion-man. BMW seems to be chucking any attempt at subtlety out the window with that one, but the E92 still looks muscley, but without the chest wig.

Very nice... still something about the e92 shape, it’s just right

Slightly O/T - if you don’t mind letting me know who did the paint/ceramics? Want to get the M6 done, & always prefer (local-ish) recommendations to randomly picking someone out of the book.

As far as the lights go, It’s only money... for a couple of hundred & you like it, then go for it. It would be a boring place to be if we all liked the same thing. smile

It looks great in black, it's always a ballache to keep mint, but fantastic when done!
