Oak finish, varnish?
Discussion
I want to match the finish on a table as closely as possible. I'm assuming this is just a quick factory finish of a generic clear varnish?
My concern is that the pieces being finished show the end grain and I don't want it darkening too much.
I know, do a test etc etc but the wood is not delivered for a week and I want to know if the Ronseal clear floor varnish I already have would be suitable.
Just to add I'm not trying to repair the table. I have some unfinished oak trim going on shelves that I want to look similar.
