Absolutely outrageous. Without wishing to be a dreadful PH hardman / staircase dominator, if I were in that camera car, I’d have driven at them without a second thought. What a disgrace.
Agreed. In fact I did once many years ago...

what on earth has the value of someones car got to do with the likelihood of them stopping to help someone that needed it? confused
A good friend of mine has one of those hideous cars (he likes it) and I know for a fact that he would have stopped to help in that situation.

If I was the dash cam car I’d have loved to have run them over with my car. I really would

However reality would be I’d have done absolutely nothing just the same as dashcam man. Why? Because I’d be scared of getting tied up in the legal system and repercussions and of the robbers family’s finding out who I am and potentially getting in trouble for it.

What on earth for? biggrin

Unfortunately, unlike in the movies where people always hide behind car doors, the rest of a car isn't actually bulletproof.

you jumped to massive conclusions. there.

bulletproof glass stops a hammer, bullets etc, i never mentioned armored cars, the bulletproof glass would slow the attack down give you more chance to think and get away safely.

here is a sledge hammer against it

Eh? Even Yipper would look at the above and think 'nah, too mental to use for trolling'.

Genuinely bizarre statement.

Me too, though I was 18 and stupid. Saw in the rear view mirror a bloke dragging a woman across the road by her hair. Turned the car round and he was giving her a bit of a kicking so I ran him over. Think I broke his leg and then she started having a go at me for hurting her boyfriend so I just drove off. Was in a bus lane round the back of the library in Widnes if anyone’s reading this with a limp.

Yep - not worth putting yourself in danger or a lot of potential bother. This isn't the movies - rather than taking them down and being the hero - chances are you'd miss and they'd turn on you and/or wreck your car. Do you think someone driving one of those hideous Bentley SUV's would stop to help you? (No is the answer in case you're struggling).
Better to sit put and take video evidence IMO.
Are you a mind reader?

Thank goodness not everyone in the world thinks like this.

I'm starting to think we're involved in some sort of offline trial of GTA6.

not really they punched a hole, something bulletproof wouldn't do. We are talking about 100k cars that can be shipped to Russia in a few days, there is a massive market,, i think a few extra thousand for a bit more piece of mind would be my priority.

I would like to think that I would, hoping that the Bentley driver would cover any damage to my car. biggrin

I'm going to guess that bulletproof glass would cost many many thousands of pounds, especially by the time the car has had to be modified to take the thicker glass, winding mechanisms have been replaced and upgraded to handle the extra weight etc.

This would seem a rather more sensible and cost effective solution.

Stunned that the surrounding cars didn't move an inch. The lady did well to get away. Glad they were just armed with axes, must have been terrifying for the occupants. I'd certainly have nudged the hoodlums away from that car. Running OVER them, they would have had to have guns.

What would be the legal ramifications if one were to have driven directly into the perps, perhaps even killing them & if there was no dashcam at hand?

Would it be an automatic charge of manslaughter or attempted murder? what is the legal situation. A bit like the many moped muggings that are going on, if they are armed can you use defence of an individual as just cause?

There's always the concern that acid could be used to disable the driver once a hole was made. Given that distinct possibility, I'd be very interested to hear what a jury would make of someone moving attackers away with their car.
