Starting to discuss floor finishes with wifey.

Solid floor, 100mm insulation with wet UFH and 75mm screed.

Had always presumed we'd go for some sort of tile finish throughout (115m² total).

However have been wasting time today googling floor finishes and am quite taken by some of the vinyl designs.

Any idea how much per £m² fitted?

Anyone have any experience of the Amtico Click - could fit that myself...

Thanks!

We thought about it on our new build in the areas that were designated for engineered oak, it makes a lot of sense where you have UFH and the latest stuff looks very good, but in the end we opted for wood because it's natural and we have a pretty big space to fill (10m x 5m) and the wood comes in longer lengths that Amtico/Karndean. From memory the stuff we looked at was @£60 psm

Luvanto might be worth a look as well. We've previosuly had Polyflor a couple fo times in bathrooms but went for Luvanto's Sun Bleached Spruce in an en-suite and it looks superb. Feels harder wearing than the Karndean/Polyflor style, and has a decent looking false grain to it.

Cost was, IIRC, about £85 for a pack when we bought a couple of years ago and the pack size is 3.34m2, so typically more than the Polyflor or Karndean I think. Handily managed it from one pack!

Edit: Just looked and it seems to RRP at £100+VAT per pack, so £30/sqm

I had some Polyfloor click delivered today, I've never fitted click vinyl so it will be interesting to see how it goes down, the little boxes are bloody heavy. I went with the Polyfloor as the colour worked well with the kitchen I fit, it was also half the price of the Karndean and it all looks a very similar product. Quick-Step do a good range of colours.

I fitted 40m2 of https://www.moduleo.co.uk/. In my house. I got the click type, it’s easy enough to lay.

The boss decreed that we shalt have Amtico click in the kitchen when we refreshed it last year and she liked it so much she wanted it again for the bathroom, which I laid last week. I actually went for Amtico Click Smart in the bathroom with the underlay attached which saved purchasing it separately. Rang around a few places and managed to get the click smart for £ 27 m2, one thing to note is that it comes in 1.77m2 boxes which may have an impact on your calculations.

I have a hardboard floor which is stapled down onto floorboards - the staples are not proud per se (well as expected)

Will the Click stuff go on OK without staples showing through?

We (ok my wife) were undecided between Engineered Oak or tiles on the kitchen/snug/hallway.
Went looking yesterday and a very helpful chap where we got our kitchen from offered Amtico Click at a very good price.....
Now even more undecided...

I went for quickstep click vinyl.

Really pleased with it actually, its fairly bombproof, looks great, doesnt sound weird like laminate and wont get scratched to fk if you actually walk over it.

I chose it over karndean and amtico click purely because i preferred the pattern/colour. Also didn't go for glue down because its a lot more money and once its down its down. This would be seriously easy to rip up and replace should i ever decide i wanted to.

I’ve now done 5 or 6 floors using the PolyFloor click. I’m actually doing one today for a friend. It’s easy to use and lies lovely and flat with no hollow sound like laminate, I doubt I’ll ever use laminate again on my refurbs. It works out just over £20m2 inc underlay.
