Probably just someone upset as Argos had sold all their 50 inch Polaroid TVs.

Lot of fuss about a non event I'd imagine.

My ex missus just called. Just says people running and panicking and armed police. She's headed towards Tottenham Court Rd now.

Knowing her she'll shelter in some expensive bar.
hehe

These black friday bargain hunters are getting out of hand. Going tooled up to save 40 quid on a rubbish brand telly seems a bit excessive even by Martin Lewis' money saving standards.

Apparently a "customer incident" and nobody actually at the scene has said anything about gunshots or similar from what I've seen so far....
Seems to be a lorry has mounted the pavement with shots being fired immediately afterwards according to reports on Twitter.

Police are on scene and say they've not located any casualties - I'd say that may suggest the DM and others were scaremongering with the lorry claim. The only sources seem to be a couple of tweets.

Conspiracy half wits will be all over that.
They already are - from "A civilian with a conceal carry responds to a terrorist quicker than police do." to "Some more cultural enrichment from the religion of peace? Should we start with the thoughts & prayers now or just go straight for the Facebook profile flag overlays & start running the excuses?"

And stupid bints like this one - https://twitter.com/ashllyd/status/934105946883870...
Apart from not knowing what was going on, there is a time stamp of 8somthing am.

Daily Mail's lorry story seems to be based on a 10 day old tweet... https://twitter.com/matthewchampion/status/9341083...

Sounds to date like bugger all has happened, thankfully.

The street looks quite nice.

No reported casualties according to BTP (apart from a minor injury to a woman leaving station). Hopefully sounds like a false alarm

Do we have adequate supplies of thoughts and prayers ready?

I'm concerned that they may have been depleted recently, and we know how much they can help in situations.

Yep looks like the case, apparently the DM have deleted their story RE;Lorry.

The vids do show a lot of armed officers however, so I'd guess it's more serious than some are suggesting.

So the only thing we know for sure thus far about the incident is that croyde is going to be considerably poorer tomorrow morning...

Thankfully it seems whatever this is it's something fairly minor but it's interesting that between Twitter and here it's anything from a minor scuffle between gangs through to a truck ploughing into pedestrians.

Hard to tell how much is down to genuine confusion and how much is people deliberately being dicks with provocative tweets and posts confused

Oly Murs tweeting that there was gunshots in Selfridges and urging people to leave immediately #prayforoly

On a serious note, I hope nobody has been injured/hurt.

Funny how my ex can afford glitzy bars whilst I am pushing the boat out by ordering a double Jack Daniels in a Wetherspoons.
