I think we learnt 2 things from this:-

1. Daily Mail don't both fact checking (although I think most know that already) https://www.buzzfeed.com/markdistefano/mail-oxford .
2. Olly Murs shops in Selfridges ( https://twitter.com/ollyofficial/status/9341044835... )

Realistically if Olly Murs was kidnapped by a terrorist gang in Selfridges I would happily pay for them to keep him.

Funny how my ex can afford glitzy bars whilst I am pushing the boat out by ordering a double Jack Daniels in a Wetherspoons.

'Barricaded in pub'
BBC journalist Alex Regan says he was initially barricaded inside a nearby pub when news of the incident broke.

He says: "There was a mad dash towards the basement of the pub as people heard the news of an incident. There were some people crying."

Sounds like they found Croyde hehe
They made him leave his JD behind ,it was gone on his return to the bar.

Maybe this is ISIS way of doing things now? Don't bother risking your life making explosives or getting caught, just spread disinformation and let the populace terrorise themselves

A similar thing happened at Westfield Stratford a couple of weeks ago.

A small fire, followed by fire alarms, followed by loud bangs of a shop shutters closing caused a stampede and several got hurt.

Apparently a "customer incident" and nobody actually at the scene has said anything about gunshots or similar from what I've seen so far....
Seems to be a lorry has mounted the pavement with shots being fired immediately afterwards according to reports on Twitter.

Police are on scene and say they've not located any casualties - I'd say that may suggest the DM and others were scaremongering with the lorry claim. The only sources seem to be a couple of tweets.
Worse still - a couple of Tweets from weeks ago. Because who has the time for such basic fact checking when there's fearmongering to be done.

BBC don't seem to have sent Huw Edwards down there so must be a non-event.

Scenes of devastated people on the streets of London tonight.....
All TV news reporters having to rehash the 'nothing happened' story, utterly devastated that no one has been shot, stabbed, run over or blown up.

They look so utterly disappointed.
