It's why we in London are being bent over by our insurance companies and probably why my Vespa GT went walkies a couple of weeks ago.

On BBC 3 today from 10am.

There's not enough cancer in the world that I'd like to see riddled through his body.

I don't advocate us here in the UK having guns but I'd love to be packing if I came across that lot, just to see them st their pants. s.

I've just returned to London after a 2 year gap living in Surrey. Londoner all my life but I'm already planning on getting out as quick as possible.

Filth like that and the smell of weed everywhere these days has turned the place into a cesspit.

Problem is, if you have a gun then they will have one, doesn't solve anything.

You could learn a self defence discapline, but then you'd stop looking like a target and they wouldn't try to rob you.

Lets face it, scum like this look for people not paying attention. Even if people were permitted to carry concealed firearms, there's still zero chance they'd be able to use them if they weren't paying attention.

The best defence Londoners can do against these bar stewards is look up from their phones and pay attention to their surroundings.

Why would you want to ban legitimate use of a scooter by carrying a pillion, when instead you could arrest and prosecute moped thugs? The problem is that the moped thugs are not being caught or prosecuted, not that people are allowed to carry passengers on their bikes.

Not entirely sure I'd want people taking potshots at a moped fleeing down a street either

Superficially it looks attractive because they can be stopped for an offence without having to get them actually committing some other offence.

In practice, the police will still not be prepared to stop them so it won't make any difference.

After a friend was recently targeted in the Turnham Green area (be warned there is a gang operating here) I treat all approaching scooters as being ridden by thugs out to rob me.

Must be a London thing.

Most self-respecting young criminals wouldn't be seen dead on a moped 'round here.

(Stolen) scrambler bikes are the weapon of choice.

Or a quad.

It's a style thing.

Its weird how this lot were dandy highwaymen that set women's hearts a flutter in the olden days.
Maybe a 100 years or so has to elapse before some twonk makes a documentary praising their daring.
To me when you hear about one getting smashed up running away from the police its always a joy.
I think there was one in seven sisters road recently that was particularly funny.

I've watched it. One of them is an absolutely heartless , he has thrown acid at a few people and doesn't show any remorse for the victims. Someone that got caught had knocked 21 phones in an hour!

The police must know where they live? Dawn raid take all thier scooters, release them upon proof of ownership, mot, insurance etc, plus compulsory fingerprinting to see if any outstanding. Easy.

Police won't chase them in case they get hurt, isn't it?

There's also the insane number of motorcycles stolen in the UK.

I hear people saying "don't be seen riding away from home, don't wash your bikes at home etc". I thought they were being ridiculous but then I sadly realised it wasn't the case.

When you’ve got the police basically saying the onus is on the owners to prevent theft, rather than taking the lead in detecting and working with the cps to prevent this then you realise how fked it is. Look at mets proposal:

the mayor thinks it the manufacturers fault

The fact that I can only get insurance at less than eye watering prices if at all, at the age of 55, if I ride something old and scummy makes my own blood boil.

And it's all thanks to allowing these feral scum to do whatever they want.

Love a decent bike but it's pointless in London now.

There was that recent car that an old lady took threw courts and eventually won where she had been knocked over during an arrest made on the street.

Judge effectively agreed that police should only be arresting in public if it is safe to do so. Bonkers.

I am not sure they use their own scooters for their crime sprees.
