Saw this posted on FB, seems they were chasing some youth off Road then collided, made a mess of the 67 plate 3 series, I'm guessing that its scrap now the airbags have gone off.

Luckily police don't seem to badly hurt.

Annoying thing is the the people caught will get at best a suspended sentence.

Just saw that on the local news, but it didn't mention they'd gone off road - I wondered how one of the cars got so badly damaged!

Luxury spec was discontinued mid 2017 so might be an error as they usually come back as 330 authorities

One hit the rear of the other. Not good. That used to be a discipline job. There can be no excuses.

Swerved to avoid the county dog. (county dog is always a non-descript black mongrel which appears from nowhere and disappears into the ether, as if by magic).

st happens.

Lucky it was a fence post/each other they hit and not a pedestrian/cyclist.

"...a minor collision..." says a police spokesman. I wonder what a major one looks like.

Perhaps TPAC was not being taught then?

Everyone walked away. That would have been classed as a minor, low speed error of judgement. No cause for police action in my day.

Maybe so, but it looked like a lot of damage to me. I wouldn't want to have to pay the repair bill.

I guess we’re all paying the repair bill.

True.

Incidentally, what's the view here on the policy whereby in some pursuits the police drivers will now sometimes deliberately ram the 'bandit' vehicle in order to terminate the pursuit? It might be justified in extreme cases, but are they resorting to that tactic too readily?

Well, as you may have guessed, my inclination was the other way, but I suppose it's not something we can judge with any degree of certainty.

Well if the driver & passengers causing this type of required failure to stop pursuit which results in them being forced to stop, if found guilty should be made to pay the full cost and not some pathetic £200 fine.
