“An armed supermarket hostage-taker who claimed allegiance to Islamic State has been shot dead by police after killing three people in attacks in southern France.

The gunman - said to be a Moroccan national in his 30s known to the intelligence services - held up a car in Carcassonne on Friday morning and killed the driver, before opening fire on police and taking hostages in a supermarket in nearby Trebes.”

As soon as I saw it pop up on a newsfeed I just had an inevitable feeling it would be connected to the ROP. I genuinely wish I didn't have such thoughts but its just getting so regular now you know what the connection will be.

Have to say I've only just read the article linked above and my god yes.

I'm pretty damned sure I wouldn't have the bottle to do that.

If you're referring to the UK police you obviously have problems with memory.

The terrorist attack last year (June) around London Bridge resulted in 3 terrorists being shot dead by the Met Police within 8 minutes of them arriving on the scene.

The 8 minutes didn't include dancing or any sight of 'fking fairies', although I guess you might have been in the vicinity.

Relax.

I think our force do brilliantly considering what they are constantly up against these days.

I, for one, couldn’t do what they do.

Yes. Excellent response from ours, and today too.

Police officers are exceptionally brave, especially considering the current threat in today’s society.

‘Dancing around like fairies’ does them a disservice.

Not an attack on Alucidnation either by the way.

Gendarme on site a bit of a hero. Gave himself over in a hostage exchange and kept a covert phone line open so security forces knew what was going on.

Hope he's OK after being shot for his trouble.

Yes. True hero. Let’s see his face not the scumbags.
