A taste of what awaits people visiting the hospital. The video audio is loud you may want to turn it down

Yes I noticed the Just giving, but £100k must be a drop in the ocean. Are they getting legal aid?

May I suggest reading the full Judgement also before anything other than a calm and rational comment is made?

I actually wonder if any of 'Alfie's Army' have actually read it?

These sort of protests really do need to stop in my opinion and they are not helped by a basic lack of education despite the incredibly glowing remarks made by the Judge in the link earlier.

Of course there are the odd ground breaking treatments as linked to earlier but that is medical science? Something is always 'new' - does that mean 'experiment' on a child in Alfie's position?

The poor child is what matters here and it is a sad reflection on society that as 'we' all get older, the next generations seem to 'know best' and 'know their rights' more and more.....

Dad's been to see the Pope. FFS

As coincidence would have it, the papers were there too. What are the odds?

You may think that. Or it may be a cheap jibe.

But most of the folk of Merseyside I speak to have no time for the Alfie's Army twits, whilst still having a great deal of human sympathy for a young couple faced with losing their child.

You may say it's normal for Scousers. But let me point out something for the hard of understanding...

Many of the Doctors in Alder Hey - they're Scousers too.
The nurses? Mostly they're Scousers too.
The Nursing Assistants? - they're Scousers too.
The Hospital support staff? - they're Scousers too.
The other patients in Alder Hey? They're Scousers too.
Their families being intimidated by the mob? They're Scousers too.
Drivers who are being spat on & abused for not blowing their horns - they're Scousers too.

The many people who fund raise for Alder Hey and provide equipment & material in these difficult times - to the benefit of kids from far & wide? Oh yes, they're Scousers too.

Take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror chap. You're no better than the AA mob... but do something decent & pop a fiver in the next hospital charity tin you see & we'll call it quits! smile

There are some very interesting comments appearing in some of the facebook and twitter replies about the couple. They keep appearing and are frantically being removed
In the meantime Alfies father seems to have understood that by rallying the mob he has loosened the devil.

rofl Nah, not me! A proud Son of West Lancs am I. But being married to a Scouse-ette, I'm allowed over the borders with just the occasional cry of "Woollyback!" ringing in my ears...

I do quite like my adopted City though I have to say. It has problems like anywhere but on the whole it's got a good heart - and it's far different to how some sections of the Media would like to portray it.

I was on my soapbox a bit there biggrin

Agreed, they are pathetic, there are way more people than just Alfie in that hospital.

Maybe in future more children should be left to let nature take it's course without so much medical intervention in the early stages leading to this type of circus.

From a legal standpoint, could an injunction be used that prevents them from protesting within a certain radius of the hospital? Surely it is affecting the quality of life of the other patients?

Everyone has the right to protest but doing it outside a hospital full of sick kids and worried families? Turn the water cannon on the bds.

I thought the same.

Once they're in, then what were they going to do?

Smuggle him to Italy?

Have the parents of Alfie decried this mob yet or do they support their urges to storm the hospital?

As said, I feel sorry for the other patients and families, who are probably having a tough enough time as it is

The newspaper said:
Doctors who gave evidence during the court case said Alfie’s brain had continued to deteriorate and his underlying neurological, degenerative disease had progressed.

They said they did not believe there was any chance of recovery.

Alfie’s dad Tom has questioned whether nerve cells in his brain could recover if the destructive process slows down.

But experts told the court case brain tissue cannot regenerate and once nerve cells are destroyed, they are gone.

Alder Hey witness Dr A said in his opinion the areas of Alfie’s brain showing some function will stop functioning and will not improve.
The behavior of this mob is appalling, if they think there's a cure for this they should get off their dolewaller backsides and invent one.
