You lot all scream and cry when your car gets scratches from parking on the pavement or dents in the roof, hope you can all laugh when it happens :rolf:
I have visions of you, dressed like this:

Meandering across cars trying to count letters on your fingers, muttering to yourself "I just don't get it. I'm certain that's how you spell 'rolf' and yet when I type it I cant get a rolly yellow ball in my posts.I'd ask for help and advice but its just too close to being told what to do"

If it's someone you hate I'd imagine hauling them out of the water would be far more advantageous, they would literally owe you their life, lots of leverage there.

Of course if they continued being a complete arse even after that you'd be perfectly entitled to leave them to drown the next time it happened.

Can we get back on topic?

I actually can't even fathom the cheek of trying to get citizenship somewhere and then actively insisting against following local norms, in some sort of act of religious arrogance!

It would be, and I didn't do it; but feel free to misread and distort other people's posts - it's the PH way.

The thing is it's not necessarily a religious thing WRT shaking hands - it's just as likely to be cultural

I don't think it's a religious thing in Islam. I seemed to remember something about orthodox jewish people sitting encased in transparent plastic bags when travelling on airplanes to avoid touching women so I did a quick google and this came up....

Any way, back on topic, she has now moved to the UK to get a free council house and weekly allowance to send to her kids in France.

Fascinating. If you knew this already one can only wonder what the reason was for you asking the question in your original post..............scratchchin

Anyway I'm guessing you didn't read the link you posted.

In Islamic Jurisprudence, there are key rules such as "No difficulty" and "No Harm". According to the rules the primarily religious edicts change totally and are substitute with secondary edicts. I have expressed 99 rules on this in my book "Al Ghavaed Al Fiqhiah".

The general rule is that there should be no handshake between opposite sexes except where the relationship is intimate as explained above. However, in non-Muslim countries in certain situation and emergencies it may become necessary to shake hands with the opposite sex. The situations for Muslim men not shaking hands with non-Muslim women may result in distress or substantial damage or it causes problem and the man is unable to explain the reason of his action (of not shaking hands) or it is contrary to the common law of that area. In this case contact is permitted on the condition that he does not have the intention of sensual pleasure and it is an emergency situation.
Personally I think it's waffle but, as can be seen, whatever "edict" that exists doesn't say it's a definite no-no.

Have you ever met a muslim female in real life?

Oh another self entitled idiot who thinks they can tell me what to do, I've met lots of you, I've walked over your cars parked on the pavement, I've squeezed passed in a leather jacket with studs (oh dear lots of scratches), I've left someone to drown in a river because I hated them (perfectly legal), so I, don't do what you scum want me to do, and there's no way you can change me!
See, when you take it too far like this, no-one believes you.

You destroy any tiny shred of credibility you may have had, with such pathetic lies.

2/10. You're doing it wrong.
The thing is that says more about him than anyone else. If I saw any of morrisey, abbott, Jezza or even gerry adams I'd still try and save them. Whether I like them (I most certainly do not - I loathe them) or not is irrelevant

Did I read that right? It makes sense, although nothing about non-Muslim man and & a Muslim woman. Does the reverse apply?

How does that differ from a Hadith (or is it actually one)?

FTR, I did shake hands with a lady Muslim when I worked in a Muslim country. More than one, actually.

In an emergency a Muslim man may shake a woman’s hand, although it may cause pain and distress .... if he can’t explain the emergency.

Yes I have !
We have been on holiday (as families) many times. She is also an immigrant !!!!!

To date she has never tried to kill me although there are times when I imagine she would like to.

Comprehension really isn’t your strong point, is it?Actually, given that isn’t what is written, basic literacy doesn’t seem to be your strong point, let alone comprehension.

Pure, unadulterated, tripe, and quite probably a figment of your imagination. Nobody who lacks such a basic understanding of Muslims knows any in real life, far less be friends with them.

Apologies I got the passage the wrong way round. The pain aspect was an excuse to allow the emergency shaking of hands, not a consequence of it.

Why would I make up such a story ?

I have been open and honest in all of my other responses / replies.

yes

Dos she actually get "kicked out" or is it just formal "citizenship" that she's denied?

Thinking further on this, aside from the legit comparison to OCD etc, it seems very authoritarian/tyrannical. And not what I would have considered of the French culture, especially of a form of greeting that is not peculiar to French. To force a form of greeting that requires touch,or any really seems would be more in keeping with a North Korea/Saudi Arabia type deal.
I've encountered several Muslim ladies in the part two days and none had issues with handshakes, could be cultural or personal.
