Or how about Godwins law, when if you ever mention Hitler your argumant becomes invalid?
Godwin's law only states that the longer an internet debate continues, the higher the likelyhood that Hitler/Nazi's will be raised. It would a fallacy for an argument to be made invalid simply because Hitler/Nazis were raised.

There are certain people in certain internet debates that use certain terms to affirm their uncertain internet superiority.
For example; people accusing other posters of using 'ad homs' to attempt to either a) Diminish the other persons argument. or b) to make themselves look like they've studied law.
Another one that gets on my 'man mams' is 'strawman argument'. Or how about Godwins law, when if you ever mention Hitler your argumant becomes invalid?
Go on, share your internet argument Coup De Grace' and make yourself look hard as fook.

People often use 'ad homs' to deflect from their own potentially weak arguments. Just because it is abbreviated latin doesn't de facto make it pretentious (see what I did there ).
And the same people often use a 'strawman' argument, as it is easier to intentionally misrepresent another person's idea by exaggerating it rather than trying to address the persons real argument.
People using either approach gets my ire, rather than the people who call it out.
