The application and fee is for every visit to the EU. Will be a massive PITA for those who have to cross the channel at least semi regularly.
Blame those that impose it.
Good point. Wouldn't need this if we were still members would we?
A good chance that there wouldn’t be many able to afford to visit much longer if we remained in.

But, what the hell, it’s the price of a small beer each visit. Who cares?

Easily the most jesterwobblesilly comment I've seen on here relating to brexit, and that's some immensely competitive field.

you know the whole Brexit, Remain bks?

Is it possible to no longer give a fk either way?

I think I'm at that point now.

It'll be what it'll be.

Load of old bks is my professional assessment.

I'm with you on this. A bit like a long trip to the shops with the wife, I couldn't really care less anymore I just want it over with.

London is fab if you know where to go, what to do and don't drive a car in.

Have somewhere to park your bike so it doesn't get nicked, wear a full face helmet to avoid be acid attacked for your bike and like paying too much for food and drink.

On reflection, as you were.

it's a bit like those long NHS / Banking type IT projects though. They're never over. It's going to be forever in some form or another as there are an army of people that don't do anything useful to earn the money they earn and long want to keep that gravy train running. On either side of the fence, wall, sea, etc

It's just life..........a bit like PH Threads about Brexit

You're really not selling this very well. Also, where on earth are you drinking if £6 is a small beer?

I've taken a look.
And did it say you need one for every trip or, obviously, that they were valid for unlimited trips during the life of the visa? I don't disagree that it's potentially a pita, one of the many reasons I didn't vote for Brexit. Just struggling to understand why you are deliberately spreading fake news? Seems like a pretty dumb hobby. You're like our own little Trump: lie, get called out, ignore, repeat ad nausiem. To what end?

According to the ETIAS website an application will take approx. 20 minutes and the current proposed cost is 5 Euros.

So it equates to 15/20 posts a day spouting bks on PH, or spread the bks over two days and it's not quite the pita that TTY makes it out to be, because he doesn't seem to struggle with spouting bks on any number of days! wink

Apologies if this sounds thick or has already been covered but would it be possible this might have happened if we remained in the EU as we didn't opt in for Schengen?

possible but unlikely.

I do feel sorry for some that have to go to France, etc many times a year. I go over the Channel about 5-6 times a year and sometimes more (this year i am up to 4 and have 3 more planned, let alone additional cheese and wine dashes) but honestly if £6 was the difference between going or not i don't think i would be going at all in the first place. Heck the cost of the fuel to get there often varies by about that much!

Nope, I was going by the article which expressly stated an application was required for every visit. Fair play, it's been proved wrong and so I was also wrong. Wasn't trying to intentionally mislead.

This ^^^ a few pence on a litre of petrol and there's your £6. It's a non-issue - aka who gives a fk

Did you read the link? It's in the first sentence of the OP's article.

"...forced to pay for a £6 visa every time they want to visit any of the 27 EU countries..."
"may" was in the first sentence, too. "Could" and "if" also appeared in the article.

Come on, it's nothing.

If you fly from Norwich Airport, you have to pay a 10 quid "Airport Development Fee" to get through to security.

It's only people like Jawknee Thanks You that are trying to make a big deal out of it.
lmao, is Norwich Airport owned by Balfour Beatty as well?

Blackpool Airport used to charge a £10 'development fee', that money was clearly put to good 'developing'
